Do auto-repair modules have any effect on how fast a droid can repair itself from incapacitation?

I had two characters out yesterday, one with a full combat probot and the other with a 142 rated R3 auto-repair following it around.
When the probot got incapped (becuase it started "spitting" and got out damaged
), the repair droids couldn't heal it. Neither could it be recovered with repair kits.
It seems the only way to recover it with with the "Incap Recovery" option, or by storing and calling again.

It has occurred that, given sufficient time, my combat droid will auto recover. By sufficient time I mean 3-5 mins during which timeI was at a loss as to how to recover him, all other methods having failed.
Not common..but it happened..for what it's worth.

This is not a very clear thing, when my droid was incapped I could not get him to get back up with Incap Recover, only by using a Droid Repair Kit. Using incap recover still left him laying broken on the ground.
