Yea not Droid related, just talking amongst friends.

Droids have always been my love, and 75% of my posts are here. I applied for the DE corr position a few times, but people far more qualified got the job. Just applied for the GCW position as well.

I have al ot of toons, and touch every part of the game, yet I only feel really knowledgeable to apply for 3 positions, DE, Jedi, and GCW. No way could I ever take the stress of the Jedi position lol. GCW isn't much better, but I htink it has a lot of potential with a corr who is fair.

Anybody else applying for it? Hopefully I get it, then we can talk about the Droids place in the GCW.

Go for it!!

To have a person withvast understandingof matters DE in the GCW Corr position would be quite an achievement.

I was hoping that you would take over if/when Jenden decided to step down. But in a way having two droid correspondents could have advantages. As long as the devs bother to talk to any of you.

I've thought about throwing in my hat for another corre run. (Yes I am in the ultimate in masochistic behavior.) The GCW forum is a bit more then I could keep up with.

Keep in mind that two major questions will be asked, by the GCW Community....

What Faction do you belong to? & Do you PvP?

No matter how you answer these two questions, you will be hounded like there is no tomorrow.

Good luck, but to be honest, I'd rather see you replace Jenden, when he decides to step down.

Umm... forgive my ignorance of matters current...but is Jenden likely to step down anytime soon?

If he did, I too would be behind Straker..for what that's worth (lol maybe good maybe bad you choose)

Edit: Drashk you are clearly mad beyond reason if you would aim to wear a hat again (Rome-Total War reference sorry

Well I would like taking Jendens place, but have no desire to replace him. I am hoping he will be around for a good long time yet.

Yea the GCW boards are insane, there is a lot of "trash" that takes place there. Picking through the trash will take some work, but I think it needs done. Yea Drashk, I know that there will be a lot of questions about my faction, if I pvp, or have a Jedi. That is one of the benefits I have from having so many accounts, I am pretty diverse. Auraboron (the old GCW) corr never really had the support of his server. People started out saying that he was biased from day one. I do pvp, but I am on great terms with both factions, I really don't think I will have nearly the bias problems that he did.

Something else I am looking at it is that currently I am on shore duty, but that ends in about a year, sure I go out of town a bit now, but in a year, there is no way I could have a corr position.

Droids are my baby, I love them, yet I also know a lot about all aspects of the game, I think that in the GCW position, that is needed.

So you'd be able to push for greater droid involvement in the GCW?

I don't PvP and so don't take much part in the war, but Oboal proudly walks around in his Rebel Endor gear (our crafting guild had a run in with a band of Imps when trying to begin our city, boo hiss! And they won booooo hissss!!).
I've always wanted to see a decent GCW endgame, if not to actually take part in but for the sake of the game.
I've seen hints of vehicle combat in the last publish files (crafted components), and there were rumours of a PvP Hoth and Capitol Ships from Fan Fest yesterday (to be announced today), so things could be looking up in that regard.

Good luck for the position, and even more good luck if you get it, you're gonna need it

As far as we know Jenden isn't planning on stepping down any time soon. I just figured that since he left the country for a little while it would be safe to pick on him

As self defeating as it sounds theres a part of me that thinks that some elements of the gameplay would be best served by having all players abstain from stepping up to the corr position

Allow me to explain, I've seen a couple of instances (GCW/Armoursmith) where the corr tried to do their best for the players but the devs just didnt want to know - therefore I suspect any future corr would be consigned to the same fate. While the counter argument is that, without a corr, nothing the players want will happen, it seems plain to me that, in most cases, the devs dont actually consider what the players want and just get on with what they want to do (the corr in these case is usually just a tool to get info on how something is or isnt currently working)

When you add this to something as evocative as the GCW (where I suspect it will be very difficult/impossible to get all the participating players in agreement) I think being a corr is an excersize in futility.......

......but dont mind me I'm getting old
