ok, i am a n00b, a n00b with to much money (i sold my BARC for 3 mill). So i bought a droid, for 20k credits; i see a medical droid and think to my self "medical droid?! i will have some of that!". So i took my new droid up to the nearest monster i could find, and started attacking, fully expecting the droid to heal me, or atleast do something, long story short, it didnt help me...
So my question is, what does a medical droid do, and how do you work it!
thanks, Xeoes Fo'Sapra.

Before the combat upgrade, the medical module in a droid would provide you with the capabilities of a Medical Centre (with the best being more 10% efficient than a Med Centre), which meant that you would have more efficiency at you own healing skills out in the field. They were mostly used by Doctors for applying buffs.
After the CU they do nothing at the moment afaik.
Whatever the case, the droid would never have healed you itself anyway.
There is a Stim-Dispensor module, where the droid will use Stim As to heal you, but it has to be loaded up with stims by a medic first.

well it just so happens i am Teras Kasi / Medic at the moment, so would i need a droid built with this function of stim pack dispensing? or can i get this one upgraded to include the specific parts? Or am i better off selling it on to the next unfortunate who happens to see the name Medical droid.

and for info, the stim dispenser is only stim a's last i heard so don't expect great heals but could be a nice added bonus to your own.

Actually medical droids do work now, yet not extremely well. You get a healing bonus when they are near you. So say instead of using Bacta shot and healing for 200, you may heal for 400. The good thing is that even when incapped they still help.
The scale is funky though, at lower levels you seem to get more benefit then at higher.
