Thread: Screwiness with combat droids

It's the reason why I won't sell 5 auto-repair "Tanking" probots anymore, whose feature was they would only do one point of damage, because they start doing full damage every now and then.
BTW, what were the damage stats with just two modules?

Is it possible that it did so well in the first encounter was because it wasbeing used bya level 15 player who was grouped with a level 70 player?
The first encounter, it owned creatures up to level 25. It's being used by a player who is grouped with a level 70 player, giving the level 15 player a...bonus...err...enhanced combat level. (Didn't know what to call it)
In the second encounter, it's being used by a level 5 player...it gets owned by a rawl.
So, I'm thinking that maybe grouping with the droid or not grouping with the droid has no effect on it's level. Maybe it's purely based on the user's level, which can be influenced by being grouped with a much higher level character. It would be interesting to seehow a level 5 player's Probot would do if he/shegroups with a level 80 player before going out on a harvestor run.
Possible?

Possible, but I don't think that is what is happening. I've had the same droid with the same character attacking the same type of targets and the damage output would shift from one fight to the next.
In fact it could start off doing 191 damage every 0.75 seconds like it is supposed to, with lovely blaster sounds, but then in the middle of that same fight switch to like 70 damage every 1.5 seconds and start spitting.
I'll test it some more. I have 2 computers so I can run such a test. I tried my level 5 character grouping with the probot again this morning and again it got demolished by a low level creature (a level 12 gualama). The gualama hit it for 300+ while the probot did only 120 or so. So I'm guessing that the owner certainly does influence how the droid fights. It's very discouraging actually, I was hoping this was not the case.
Note that when the droid was grouped with my level 70 character, the droid sure wasn't fighting like level 70, more like level 25 or so. So perhaps it is capped.
