I've never owned a droid before, and don't know much about them. So I came here to ask the Engineers, because Engineers know there products.
First, I am interested in an Astromic Droid to help me on my ship. Question 1 what exactly can it do, and what can't it do, ie. In flight Repairs? Question 2, can I get a level 3 droid and upgrade it to a higher level as I progress? Question 3, what function can an Astromic have on the ground, ie. combat?
I don't really want a droid to be no different than armor or a blaster. I want it to be more of a perminate companion much like R2-D2. You information is greatly appriciated.

Space: Most of your answers can be found in the DE 101 FAQ in the JTL section. Some ships will take a Flight Computer rather than a Astromech, so you'll probably want one of each depending on what you fly.
Ground: We are somewhat going through growing pains in terms of Combat Droid use on the ground due to the Combat Upgrade.
