Heh, I started my path down droid engineering rather late in this game. Ihad a couple boxes into Carbineer andhad all the pre-req skills for novice squad leaderbut I just said: "SL is broken right now but I've always liked the idea of droids... so if I'm going to commit to a broken class, it might as well be doing something that I've always liked."

I may be fresh blood in the big scheme of things, but I'm in for the long haul.

I started 2nd week, that count? *chuckle* I'm not doing very much business anymore, I used to churn out a lot of droids, but lately it's been very slow - very few BH droids even! I think the market is begining to top out since there's no decay whatsoever, and most people who want a droid already have one except for very new players who don't have much cash yet. Not been doing much with DE lately and doing more adventuring/missions/faction gathering along with combat skills.

I'm here, and actually yesterday was my best in sales by far, I sold nearly 170kworth of droids.

I think we'll see huge business if the devs follow through on their "more combat droids" tease. It is immensely frustrating that we get no response to anything, though.

I'm still here

Although it has been painful and somewhat boring it has also been very profitable. I've established a wide customer base and have been keepinga steady stream of combat, crafting, and especially BH droids (hundreds if not thousands a week) rolling out of my shop

Granted it does get rather boring and without a big change soon I may start dropping this profession as well. I still have hope though and will stick around for at least another month!

I worked very hard from day 1 to get MDE soI dont plan on droping it anytime soon. However, I've stopped production. I build droids for friends and sometimes people who message me directly.

If they end up rubbing our faces in the dirt by adding a DH line then im through.

I almost bailed last week. From the Whole game, not just the Droid engineer profession. My wife convinced me to hang in for 1 more month...

I made master DE and I redeeded all my harvesters and houses and logged out. I am playing a new character on another server right now. Combat/medical support. And strangely enough I have a LOT more cash now than I ever did as a DE...

I am also having more fun. I might go back to my DE. I havent Decided yet. I refuse to waste all that work by rerolling a character on the server. I am tired of fighting with customer support, Bugs and Developer neglect, faulty reasoning and bad judgements so I can stick it out with my class of choice. I love droids, That isnt gonna change. They are by far one of the most interesting aspects of the SW universe. It would have been nice if ANYONE at SOE had realized that and made them a usefull and fun aspect of SWG. Oh Well...

I suspect that by the time they get this class fixed, Something a lot better will have come along to capture my disposable income. They did the same thing to me in EQ with my Necromancer, so at least I am used to it... But I have to wonder if I am somehow being targetted.

I am gonna lurk here in the forums, hoping and praying Ill read a post by a developer ( or more likely a player) that gives me good news about our future as DEs.

At least now with the forums closed, we wont have to worry too much about a post being knocked off the firstpage inless than a minute.

I've been lurking these forums for weeks. I'm trying to stick it out and hope for the best. Though it does seem everytime I find a way to make decent money, the method gets fixed/nerfed.

I plan on sticking in there but im going to have to drop master artisain now i just cant afford the wasted skill points anymore. Hopefully they will have droideka's and some new droids in soon for us to build which should sky rocket the sales for those of us who have stuck in there.

Wow, Sintrosi. Very nice to see you are here. Some of us were speculating yesterday if you had left us or not.

As to the thread, yes, although I do see a few new DE's around my server, in general it's pretty bleak. This forum is at a relative stand-still, especially if you take out the posts from the non-DE's asking questions.

I've pretty much lost hope for the DE profession, especially since Holo has mentioned that horrible, horrible idea of "Droid Handlers". With the points required to be a DE (including Master Artisan), it would barely be possible to be one as well, and I'm not going to make droids if I can't use them.

There are several things they could do to help make being a DE more enjoyable - especially since it's about the toughest crafting profession to be a part of in the first place.

/sigh

I wish I was just complaining in hopes that something would be done, but I'm really coming to the end of caring. It's so, so sad, 'cause I feel like I could do so much with the game, but the Devs seem hell-bent on letting us slide by the wayside.
