I've been busting my hump on limited funds to get to making low end probots, and meddroids (actually a nice advanced R4 with 3 med 2's yeilds 100% med.. but thats all it can do hehe) but I think I'm ready for something else...

the shame of it is, I LOVE CRAFTING DROIDS!! But I'm not having fun because of how limited they are right now. Data mods, health mods, and craft stations.. low end fighters that any novice CH can beat, even at our best. Its just not worth all the skill points when I could be a master pistol instead and have better fighting ability, make more cash, and enjoy the game more

So for now, I think I'm going to try other things and watch for DE changes... When combat droids come out, when new data types are invented, when they have more usefullness to the players in the game, I've no doubt I'll be back

Me too, but in a different way. I play on TC, and I'm primarily a DE there. I dont do it to get rich, but I would like to at least support myself and have a few thousand left over to buy a new set of clothes or a new weapon or something. I dont want to have to run missions to support myself. Currently I spend 2 hours a day running missions, and a couple more crafting/grinding droids. 80% of my income is from missions. The reason:

There is no compelling reason for anyone to buy anything but a single droid with a med or two!

So I'm packing everything up and putting it in the bank. 15 medium miners (on TC you pretty much have to be self-reliant), a medium house, 3 factories, and all my accumulated resources. I've started a toon on another server and am starting toward DE again. I figure that by the time I get to a decent DE level, droids will be fixed (month or two?) and I can finally have some fun. But I still have my TC character, so if I see that something has happened there, I can go play with the changes.

It's just so frustrating the lack of communication from the Devs.

Yes, I agree. I can see people buying a droid or two, but theres no real diversity, really. Most people that are crafters, one craft in one direction (there are a few that need multi craft stations, but thats what houses are for) and maybe a probot as another blocker in combat... but thats really about it... everything else could be crammed into a single R3, so why buy another droid?

I honestly think that once droids are fixed up some (combat droids, new divers modules, and inherant abilities) then I will return to my first love... droids. I dont do it for cash, so the whole grind thing is kind of crappy... i do charge a 'fair' wage for droids, but not a fortune all in all... so its certainly not money. But I would like it to at least support itself.

Ya know though... at the risk of sounding like a 'traitor' I'm thinking about plauying with CH for awhile hehe (yes I know that some of what we have cant be reproduced by a CH) But I'm just not having fun with it.

Chances are that I will continue to hope for droid futures, and just stop grinding, and drop master artisan (so any master arts on Flurry, let me know lol)

I've done the smuggler and pistoleer. Got tired of newbies asking me to slice their crappy weapons and asking for particular slices. Pistoleer got nerfed. Went to combat med and CH, BE. BE sucks hardcore unless you're a master and its all broken too. CH, I still have 3-3-2-4 so I can make a bit of cash on the side. Combat med is worthless, and the game is flooded with doctors.

I loved crafting, I started out playing as an artisan and it's hard when you have no clue how to play. so I quickly shifted to marksman.
