I think DE should be able to construct and program a mouse droid that functions as your radar. And without one, you don't have a radar. Why everyone gets this radar thing is beyond me anyway. What, we have that equipment on our person? Built-in or something? Bah.

Radar droids would be a great addition, and modules to expand their range would be great. You could get them in all the ranges the current radar can display, and emodules so they could tell aggro from passive creatures, PCs, etc. You could even pay faction points and get a covert detector module and set them up to patrol.

Now, you'll say, "Well, the first target a PvPer will take out will be that radar droid!" Well, no kidding. But if they don't have their own, they won't even know it's there until they're right on it. Meanwhile, you've seen them coming for 256m and are all set up to deal with them.

Players will gripe about this, a LOT, until they actually used it and see it in action.

I dunno, I do kinda like my radar w/o needing a droid for it, hehe.

BUT, I won't go and say cuz that was a bad idea, because it wasn't. I wouldn't be mad if it was ever implemented, but overall, I hope that it's not.

But yea, that's really not that bad of an idea tho.

Because you need to have some givens for gameplay. Not everything we use in the game should need to be crafted or sold. I'm sure this was discussed when the game was being designed. "Dowe allow a basic sense of direction for all players or do we let them suffer like we did in Evercrack and make em work for it?" "I think we want to focus our energies on other aspects of the game itself and not direction finding and radar, give it to them"
