I bought one, but havent placed it yet. Should I hold onto it, and how do I use it? is there a good guide on that?

At first I got a factory because I hit teir 3 blueprints and it turns out you need a "advanced droid brain." These nast little guys are just like normal droid brains but you need 4 identicle GP modules and 4 identicle electronic memory modules. You can only make these items identicle in factories. However, now that i can make 100 GP mods at a time crafting how gotten a lot easier. Now I just run my more simple parts in the factory and it saves me the frustration of crafting EVERYTHING from scratch. I for example have crates of GP mods, electro mem mods, micro sensors, controlers, and adv droid motive sensors. Especially mass produce artisan stuff because the exp is only 10% per item and you dont need artisan exp once your master so dont waiste your time. I wouldnt use a factory for droid exp as it is a lot faster to pump out 10 droids then produce 100 in factory...both giveing same exp.

As for operating it, it can look annoying but works great once you ge a hang of it. Whatever you craft needs a schematic from a crafting kit of the same type as factory...i.e. use general crafting kits for general crafting factories. You will need a crafting station to get a schematic...just craft the item as normal near the station and click "get factory schem" instead of "get prototype". You will get a slider from 1 - 100, this is how many of the items will be made. The schematic will go into your datapad. Then goto the factory and make sure all maint and power is paid up for like at least a day and a half to be safe. Then click "access schematic inventory" (something to that effect) under options. Select the schematic you wanna use and click "use schematic." Next is very important...you have to load the "ingredient hopper" with the EXACT materials used to make the schematic. You will also need to put in the right amount of the resources to make at least the number you selected the schematic to make. I always put it more then i need jsut in case i did my math wrong. Then just hit "Start manufactoring" and go and do somehting else. When its dont it will email and you can get your product in crates of 25 out of the "output hopper." If you get a mail after like 10 mins somehting wrong happened, prolly with ingredients.

Ugh, I thought that explaination was gonna be shorter *fingers bleed* Hope that helps! Excuse the typos as I am sure there are many. I have been playing all day hehe.

Right now - factories are bugged - BIG time, so I would definitely wait placing it - untill you absolutely have to (Blueprints III - I think)

A Factory will only let you make 100 items - then it comes to a grinding halt - and will refuse to make more - untill you redeed the factory, or wait for a server reboot.

It is simply DESTROYING my business, that I cant make stuff from my factory :-(

Thats my problem Im at DE 4,4,1,4 and run out of skill points, I need to get a factory so I can get ride of master Artisan and use those points on something els. From what I hear factories are bugged really bad and I have been having trouble selling my products.

ditching master artisan is gonna remove some of the components you can make....which are needed to creat Droids (from what I've read and seen. I'm only novice DE right now...)

OK, in MY case the factory IS sort of helping the grind. However, this is a side-effect.

Simply put, I'm taking advantage of current market conditions by making a ton of Bounty Hunter Seeker droids. These take two GP modules and one memory module each, and honestly it isn't worth my time to make 'em all by hand.

BUT, with a factory, I have crates of the modules, and crafting the seeker droids becomes quick and easy, and also generates 300 xp per unit for me (with 100 resources plus the above-named modules).

Taking a well-deserved vacation from his successful Droid Engineering business, Master Rho can be found puttering around the galaxy.
