Thread: BH Needs Seeker and Probe droids
Im looking for a DE on the Lowca server that can supply the droids I need for my misions, So far unfortunately the resource cost is so high not to many DE's can keep any sort of stock.I literally travel from planet to planet buying the few i find just to do one mission. Please realize that those 5 pack cases u sell only cover 1 mission and that BH past lvl 0 Investigation does not make any money at all, NONE.Infact we have to do other types of missions just to make money to buy droids so we can complete a mission..Just a thought when your puting a price tag on your crates. But if theres anyone from lowca that reads this and isnt going to bend me over on the price Id love to do business with you..

look, you bounty hunters are nice enough people, and we like you, we really do.
But 800-100 per seeker is just what they cost, that's the way it is, and that's how it's gonna stay.
I know how hard it can be trying to lvl up in investigation, but stop complaining about not making a profit on your grind to master, if you wanna find out about not making a profit on a grind try just getting up to blueprints 1 in the DE profession, after you've spent 6 days harvesting metal and fiberplast with small harvs with no income, and all the while spending almost 3 hours an evening cranking out MSE-6's for xp, and look at your Skill sheet to find that you STILL need 30k more xp, Vs the 18k you already have to lvl, THEN you can come here and whine that it costs too much to lvl up.
As it stands, you don't know what grinding is, you have NO idea.
The cost to make a Seeker is dependent on the cost of the resources. If the DE is mining their own resources, it isn't unreasonable to sell them for 200-300 credits. However, if you have to buy them on the bazaar, where they are often 5 credits per unit, then the price jumps.
Will we be making a profit on Seekers? Nope, but at least by selling them at cost, we are at least recouping the expense of the materials - which we normally don't get to do while grinding.
I am selling seekers for 450c and probes for 1000c on the Eclipse server. Admitted I am doing rebel missions as well to make ends meet and I sell the odd 3K mobile crafting station. My income has improved since I started selling seekers and probes.
Maybe that is what Droid Engineers are meant to be - part timers.
Ok I have two questions first how does the BH missions work to need these driods? I dont understand how the driods are used and how more than one is used, is a probe better than a seeker?
Next I dont remember what the exact resource allocation is for these driods does anyone know off the top of their heads?
A BH did explain how the droids are used when the vendors first got removed
Apparently the Probe droid tells the BH which planet the target is on (one use only)
Then once they get to the planet the seeker will give them a waypoint of the targets position, however I believe the targets either move, or are constantly moving thus several seekers will/may be needed (again these are once use only)
I think once they hit Investigation III or IV they can get more uses out of the droids (dont know if this applies to both types or just seekers)
What they should be concentrating on is having their mission pay increased, but since they devs like ignoring them just as much (if not more) than us (I dont think theyve even had their report reply yet) they think they can get a player solution to the problem by whining for us to lower the prices (I dont know about you but it just makes me want to charge more with all we have been through)

Sure it may be annoying to do a mission and lose cash but guess what the only way to advance for droid engineers is to lose cash and lots and lots of it.

On the Intrepid server I sell Seekers and Arakyds dirt cheap (probably at a loss) to drive traffic to my store, after I noticed how many BH's would also buy a Probot or another type of droid while picking up their BH droids. The margins on the upsells more than make up for the losses on the low-end loss-leaders.
I sell Arakyds for 1350 and Seekers for 450.
