Thread: Composite Segment Effects on Droid Armor?

I apologize if this has already been discussed and if so, could someone please help me out in finding the information?

But can someone please explain how composite armor segments (from an armorsmith) work in manufacturing droid armor segments?

Up until now I've been placing 2 level-4 armors in my droids. Once, I get master (hopefully this weekend) I'd like to start making level-6 armor.I just started discussing the possibilities of purchasing composite segments from an armorsmith friend of mine, but now I'm kinda lost.I discovered that there are sooo many optional waysfor her to produce the composite segments. In other words, you can tailor them specifically for acid, heat, cold or whatever resistances you want. But in a droid do the specific resistances you build into the armorsmith segmentshave any affect or do you just get the 40% across-the-board resistance that you get from 2 level-fours? For example, If I ask my friend to make me cold resistance only composite segments, will my droid only have 40% cold resistance and nothing else?

Thanks in advance.

Right now, today, it makes not a lick of difference. Your smith can use up grinding materials left over or something. No optionals, no fancy resources, just whatever meets the need for the schematic. Whatever you do, you will get a 40% across-the-board resistance, medium-armored droid when you use a level 6 armor module made with it.

Will this change? Maybe.... No idea, really, but they have been messing with experimentation results on droids just a little bit lately. However, hard caps seem to be really overused for our little mechanical companions.

Thanks, Rho! This is exactly the info I was looking for. I had NO idea what to ask for (for now) from my armorsmith.

Oh, I SHOULD modify that JUST a little: Better quality components do seem to lead to a somewhat lower chance of critical assembly failures. *shrug*

This is an area that I hope gets addressed with the anticipated Dec,Jan, and Feb updates that us DE's are supposed to get.

I have said it before many times. I look forward to the time when we all on these forums can excitedly discuss how we made a new droid today and these were the highlights of my new droid. Unfortunatly, As it stands today I can build a droid with resources with the worst stats ever, while Rho can use all resources with 1000 quality across the board and the difference between our two products will be almost nil.

Minor Point: You don't actually need to use two Level 4 modules to get the same effect as one Level 6 - you only need one Level 4 and one Level 3.

Actually, you only need a pair of Level 3s if you experiment them up a bit.
