Well, I'd probably start with FAQ, Guides and useful Droid Engineer links
JediYak's guide in there as well as the other stuff, should be a mighty good start.

Ah, fair enough... Getting TO DE is simply a matter of crafting until you've earned the xp for it, right now personal harvesters of some sort or another are quickest, later this week landspeeders will be (if you're a Master Artisan).
Once there, I think the guides provide the kind of info you need though?

but 1 more question, you wouldn't happen to know a planet high in steel or somewhere i can get it cheap cause i still got 200 of the 250 creds they give you and on corellia i can't find any % higher than like 50

Well, the thing about resources is they change every five to ten days or so, steels and such seem to last around a week on Kauri. The percentages you find, and the particular varieties of materials you get, will change regularly.
There are a few materials you will want to hoard, to stash away, and not just use up, when they show. These include Lidium Extrusive Ore, Dioxis Inert gas, Duralloy Steel, Duralumin aluminum, Ditanium steel, Duranium steel, and Link-steel aluminum. There are probably one or three others I've forgotten.
It may be tempting, looking at that stack of 20K ditanium, to just grind out your next skill box, but what if that skill box is BP4, and you've just blown the last of your ditanium, meaning you can't build a 3PO?

Kuari is the server he plays on. Which leads me to ask this question. Are you new to the game? Not a bad thing. Just will affect how we ask questions and answer them for you. We want to make sure we treat you correctly and can help you.
Have you moved up the engieering tree at all?
