Thread: I'm going into the DE profession...
...but I asked someone why I don't see any combatdroids around but alot of creatures. They said that there are alot of problems with droids, and creatures take alot more damage. Is this true, and how much do you guys sell?
Also- I saw two Droidika screenshoots in the Player screenshot of the day, so, can you build them? or is it just a NPC to fight?
thank you for your time.
Creatures take a lot more damage CURRENTLY, but next patch all non-CH type creatures are getting reduced down to CL 10 with no armor. They do a bit more damage than our probot, but the no armor thing just kills them. The probot with medium armor will last a whole lot longer, but won't be able to dish out the damage quite as well.
Credits? I make a whole lot more cash off powerups than I do off droids. I enjoy making the droids though, so I usually have a full inventory to pick from. I have noticed droids sales have dropped a ton recently as well. I don't know if it's because everyone has thier droid now, or if they are waiting to see what the patch brings.
Droideka's are NPC's. They don't exist as player created items yet.
Thank you!
and powerups? Droid powerups? Like what?
Also- Do you know if droids can be sliced?
Thank you so much.
I financed my rise through Droid Engineering with weapon powerups, which sold very well. I found, though, that once I hit a certain level I did better by avoiding the factory time for powerups, instead using it for droid components. A while back I opened a second factory, and I still have a bit of trouble keeping up with demand for some items. I sell more than enough droids to keep my factories busy, my bank account rising, and myself relatively happy.
Location is terribly important for a shop owner. I am in a very desirable spot due south of perhaps the most populated city in the game. My new droid annex (coming soon) will be in a well-established player city, with convenient bank and shuttle access.

This is part of my problem. I am in a great location just 700 meters south of town, BUT it is an Imperial city and since 80% of factions are rebel, I lose out on most of that business. Plus, Bestine is not exactly the most scenic spot in the galaxy to visit. There isn't a lot of lag there like in Coronet or Theed, but the lack of visitors limits patronage.
I am opening a new shop soon. I need to figure out how to free up some structure space so I can do it. Running 7 harvesters all the time limits my options.
I realize we're both on Kauri, so maybe I shouldn't help the competition, lol!
But consider purchasing resources! I go to Degas/Degasai, get pretty much everything at 4 credits/unit, even for the best stuff, and generally wind up spending over half a million credits at a time on good stuff. I've got two small houses, one medium house and two factories, so I only have two free lots to even RUN extractors.
I figure if/when I ever find Lidium Extrusive or Dioxis Inert gas, I'll slap down two big extractors at that time, but will still purchase as much as I can.
I think in your case, finding a player city with a decent population would likely be the best way to increase business.
