Thread: My thoughts on the Droid engineer
I have only been playing for a month, yet the DE seems to be pretty much useless especially compared the the creature handler which is, IMHO, way over powered.
I am going to list my thoughts on how I think the DE, droinds in particular, should fit into the Starwars Universe:
Droids are supposed to be everywhere in starwars life. So much that it should seem weird to not have them. They need to be more usefull of not a necessity in the game. To accomplish this I propose the following:
1) Droids are made with varying memory slots available. These slots can contain skills, storage space, weapons, whatever. This should be based on model, and level of the engineer.
2) Droids can be made with any skill available to a player character and a few not. These skill should be limmited from novice to level III, and no higher.
3) Any player can use a droid of any level.
4) Limit the number of droids a person can control at once to 2. Even DEs.
5) Combat droids are very illegal in Starwars. Especially since the end of the clone wars. Using a Droid should create a TEF for the user, making them attackable by all law enforcement agencies and imperial or rebel factions not alligned with the user.
Well, those aremy thoughts on the profession. I hope they will be listened to, but not taken as demands. Just as suggestions.
Thanks!
A little rough around the edges and would be a pain to implement but I like it. You give droids a wide range of functions (but not as good as a player) and let everyone benefit from them. The TEF for combat droids makes sense and would help with the balance issues.
Just wondering if you got some of this from the WEG SW:RPG system? this is similar to the way they have droids set up.
Your ideas are important to us as a profession. Your support (we consider anyone's want for droid enhancement to be support) is even more important.
um Dark troopers are infact droids

the empire still uses them
Never played the Star Wars RPG. And the only sourcebooks I own or have read all involve Ships and weaponry. Like the Imperial sourcebook.
I just thought that the doids should be usefull for something and be more prevalent.
