That hs always been this way, unless you shoot once at the target you get no looting rights

Afraid I have to disagree. I've been using my Probot to clear out the problem NPCs for a long time, and always had permission to loot the corpses. Many times I'd just send the Probot into a thief camp and let him wipe it out, then go in and pick up whatever was available. This "no permission" thing has just started since pub 21.

Yes I noticed this problem with droids,

It happened with publish 21. I dont have any combat skills so I use my probot to kill red con creatures near my extractors. When I did this after the publish I didnt get rights to loot, but before the publishI did it all the time.

This is the root of the problem:

Profession: Creature Handler

• Slightly increased the effectiveness of the Aggression pet abilities


• Changed the experience point (XP) system to grant a Creature Handler combat related XP so that the owner gets the kill credit for a target.


• Learning a new ability from a tamed pet will no longer display a string error.

Ah, yes... i mixed up regular Droids with bomb droids, i think...
If you kill a target with a bomb droid you get neither loot nor harvesting rights...
(or i am completely wrong today ^^)

Thanks for the info! As to grouping with the droid, that's not something I can do. I'm level 10, and that would bring my CL 30 Probot down to my level. A dyslexic chuba can already kill me! Not gonna let him get my Droid, too

Yeah I noticed this little feature too .. did a lot of grinding early last night and regardless of whether or not I was grouped or took a shot I was allowed to harvest the critter. But late last night did some more grinding and noticed that if I wasn't grouped and didn't take a shot at the critter I couldn't harvest. I didn't worry about it much as that seemed to be tied into that group fix. Not done any griding today so can't confirm whether it has changed for me since the server was down.

Very interesting! Just one minor flaw. If I'm within 30 meters of a Mauler, I'm dead lol!!\
