I dunno. Reading Survey droid idea on 'the big ugly thread' in Cevelopement. Dont want to post this there. So here.

let waypoints be dropped into droid data storage modules. They can be 'activated' (become patrol points) just like WPs in our data pad. They are patroled in the order they occure in the data pad. The order could be controlled by sorting them alpha numerically and naming them apporprately.

So you can send you droid on a rpoute anywhere, from WPs in your data pad. [Requires droids not to get stuck, like they do now]

So, now, you got the route. you also program the resourses the droid samples for. The droid needs the right survey tool as a component (as well as data storage). I suppose you could train thr resource name like a typical droid command.

Then, the droid travels the route adding its own WPs (un activated) to its data pad, with the name(s) and concentration of the resource at the WP, or, the highest concentration between waypoints. Or even the concentration and location or the 'cusp' of the resource closest to the WP in data pad.

This would need the 'droid spaces out' bug fixed. And may be undoable because these droids actually running around will take server proccessor time.

We all , Im sure have wanted to be able to just drop in batteries. And let the droid use them as need be. No good reason not to do this. It could suppliment the existing battery fuction, or all droids could be given one item slot inherantly for battery use. and it could replace the currant system. Of couse in either case multi use batteries, and adduitional batteries in droid item storage would incrase droid battery life.

Of course should not consume batteries. Batteries placed in power droid storage would charge while the droid is out. Whether batteries could all be charged from 1 to 10 charges, or whether thier originalmax count would be a limit. that can be determined as we go.

Could require a higher level cert like combat droids

could require require cert . Could control the harvester from the owners remote interface. Redeed, set all functions, pay maintenance (from your account) deposit energy from its storage compartment or from a power core mod. Could transfer hopper to its item storage. Etc.

You could get in like a mech, or ST. you would benefit from it armore. you would drive it like a vehicles. And shoot with its gun instead of your own Of course this WOULD require a heavy cert.
