We can't figure out how to rename any of the bipedal droids. They don't work the same as the others. You have to "converse" with them to program, and they don't accept a name after adding it to 4 commands like the other models. As for the protocol droid, it doens't do anything. seriously, NOTHING! So unless you just want to look cool, don't bother.

also keep in mind that the protocol droid has so few modules that he's pretty useless from a functionality stand point. He looks cool. He talks a little. But he's bugged so you can't name him, and he takes so few modules that he's no better than a novice DE's mouse droid in terms of what he can actually do.

The do have them and so can you! They take modules like any other droid. They just come in gold. They are a little more expensive, but shouldn't be too high. You can have 5 droids in your datapad, same as everyone else. (even Master DEs)

The humanoid droids (Surgical, LE Repair and Protocol) are programmed through a menu system. It looks a lot like what you see when you converse with a trainer. When you have a personality chip installed, it changes the responses your droid gives to these menu selections. The prissy responses are different from the slang, etc. There have been some reports of these droids "speaking" on their own, but I've never heard one of mine do it. Oh, keep in mind that currently you can't name these type of droids like you can pets or other droid types.
