I've been an MDE since around the end of July and I'm not going anywhere anytime soon.
On the other hand I do notice that I'm turning into an old man.
"Lidium ore? You're bent out of shape because you can only build Storage 5 modules? Let me tell you, back in my day Storage modules use to eat anything put in them, so you couldn't even build a Storage 1 module, unless you wanted angry customers.
And probots? You're sad because you've only got 20% armor? Back in my day they had -no- armor, less HAM, did less damage, there were no repair kits, and if they were incapacitated they were destroyed and had to be deleted out of the data pad.
And don't get me started on how non-ch pets are stronger than our droids. Back in my day...."
The other thing I tend to think about is the Wrath of Khan.
"Yes... old friend... Still alive... You seem to have killed just about everyone else... but like a poor marksman you just... keep... missing...the target."

This is true, but I'm trying to focus on all the negatives of playing a DE back then. It makes the current difficulties seem a lot easier to bear.
Seriously. Everyone is complaining about how the armor change makes probots useless, but this is nothing compared to the big nerf probots took just as I hit MDE. They really did lose all armor, damage dropped down to the 50 point range that we've had for so long, they suffered permadeath, and a player could get a cowardly gurrek from a CH which was way better than the current non-CH pets.
If I could make it through that I can make it through this.
I'm seeing and training a lot of Novice Droid Engineers on Starsider as well, but I think they are going to start dropping in droves when they realize our current combat droids are as good as they will get.
While very few of them an L337 D3WDZ I think a lot of them are assuming there is going to be a product to sell to the L33T D3WDZ and when they realize that either doesn't exist or is months and months away at the very least I expect they will look for something new to sell.
And I will still be here.

I kinda did that as well. But my new server is the test center which I'm finding is quite enjoyable. Reminds me of the days when I just started, everything was a challenge and earning some credits was hard. I finally made enough to buy myself a ber10 harvester...now its smooth sailing from here.

I'm just a glutton for punishment, still have my test center DE going
