Thread: Urgent DE Fix: DE's need to call multiple droids
In addition to all of the other issues with Droids, I have one big problem that I would like dealt with which Thunderheart did not deal with in his response to Sintrosi.
DE's can make repair droids and power droids (which may or may not be working now?) but we can not power or repair our own droids. That is because we can't "call" more than one droid at a time. This is done to maintain "balance" in the game (in case we decide to pull out a couple of killer probots and reak havoc...lol) This is strange considering that CH's could have 3 far superior creatures out at a time (strange sense of balance).
Now many will say that this is the only perk that CH's have and that they need the combat capabilities associated with the "perk", and that DE's are crafters so they should not be jealous. Blah Blah Blah...that is a whole other can of worms.
But I think there is a way to maintain "balance" and still allow DE's to be able to do the very basic functionsa DE should be capable of. If each droid was given a "combat rating" and a cap was imposed such that only 1 real combat droid could be "called" by a DE at a time, then DE's could have a power droid and/or a repair droid and 1 or more droids (from customers) "called" at a time. This would allow true droid maintenance and perhaps spawn a new business avenue (especially for fledgling DE's).
I think this could work...More Realistic...More Fun...shouldn't hurtany other profession.

Agreed.
TH has said these things are slow coming because of the fact that Droids touch every aspect of the game which is true. However, droids are very much mechanical pets in the eye of the game engine. Implementing this idea would be quick, easy, effective, and a sign that the DEVs do see us as a priority.
Any time you've seen a CH or anyone else with multiple droids out, you've seen evidence of someone having gone out of their way to exploit a bug in the server synchronization system. Essentially, by pulling out one droid, and then running far enough away, you could pull out a second droid. I never did it, but once I had a BLL patrolling, flew to another planet and pulled out and used a probot. When I returned the BLL was still there, though stationary. This was at least six weeks ago.
another thing that people may not realize is that the befriend command works on droids now. while my roomate is sitting in camps working on scouting, I personally, have him befriend me his droid and I run around killing stuff, commanding both.
do to the nature of this feature, the command does not always stick and must be reprogramed with the command at the most inconvienent time.
