Thread: DE Experimentation Attribute Effects

Much time has been spent to search out info. regarding the resulting effects of our experimentation efforts as DE's. Thus far, I have obtained very little data outside my own observations.

The purpose for this particular post is to attempt to draw out the "aged" Master Droid Engineer(s) who might be knowledgible in the DE experimentation process.

Interests are as follows:

1. Which droid components are or are not effected by the experimentation process (i.e. base components, sub-components, chasis, final droid deeds, etc)?

2. What are the explanations/effects obtained from the various crafted component item's attributes (i.e. mechanism quality and such)?

3. I understand the "experimental durability" is not experimental in DE components (unless I am missing an item or 2 which it does effect), but for the "Experimental Effectiveness" and the "Experimental Quality," what final deeded droid's/base component's/sub-component's attributes are we actually improving by increasing the experimentation in these areas? I understand the "Experimental Quality" increases the HAM of the final Droid, does it effect other attributes as well?

4. Are there attributes which effect how a droid regenerates HAM and how efficiently a droid utilizes its battery charges?

5. Are there attributes which effect the crafting stations in droids, my current understanding is a crafting station module has the same effectiveness as a public crafting station (~19%)?

6. Are there attributes which effect the power module effectiveness?

7. Are there attributes which effect the repair module effectiveness (current understanding: repair module effectiveness is "fixed to be one setting")?

6. Other related information would be most useful here.

From my current perspective and understanding, as a DE, there is little reason to invest time spent on experimentation; however, logic and reasoning would disagree. I must be mistaken to think the experimentation as a DE is negligible. I am hoping to understand more about the experimentation facts, rather than "shotgun" assumptions.

Thank you for any interests/thoughts/feedbacks, etc.

Experimentation does squat for DE's right now. Some will argue the point that experimenting the droid storage compartment makes for better Stationary Craft Stations for Architects, but there are several experiments that dispute this. They may actually say 43%, but whether they actually help or not is up to debate.

The only other thing I can think of that experimentation effects is also an illusion. You can experiment the HAM up on a probot droid to a max of 828 while crafting it, but when you actually call the droid and examine its stats it will show 820 no matter whether you experiment or not.

All that said, the next patch is supposed to really make experimentation do something for DE's. We shall see.

You can experiment whatever you want. It "seems" it makes something, the problem is that when you craft the final droid, the result only depends on the quality of the resources used, not the subcomponents. And anyway, all droids have hard caps, so you dont see any difference at all.

EXCEPTION: medical, armor and storaging modules. See note at the end of the post

No clue. No visible effect at this moment.

Only the probot (and I think the Dz-70 too) are affected with an increasing HAM that becomes nothing when you tame the droid. No other effects.

No

You can improve the "Mechanism quality" of the crafting modules experimenting the Effectivenes. Whether this makes something or not, and the relationship between crafting modules and crafting stations is still unclear

6. Other related information would be most useful here.

Yeah, there is no real reason to experiment on droids except for this point: two well-experimented level 3 modules (medical, armor or storaging) stacks giveng you the same result as a level 6 module. This is very usefull if you are not Master yet, or of you dont have the rare resources. Other way, experimentation is plain useless.

Hope that helps

Gribnitz and Ellesa,

Your replies are much appreciated, I thank you both.

Unfortunately, it seems you both have confirmed my suspicion to be correct. DE Experimentation provides a time wasting side-effect after obtaining Mastery (assumming the experimentation "does" offer bonus xp for crafted items, only useful during the grinding process,... I did not utilize this method).

Agreed, Gribnitz, "we shall see," in following patches.

Additional thought,... some rumors suggest the added complexity applied as result of experimentation have an effect on the battery charge usage rate, but I am not certain this rumor follows the current droid format. I f experimentation has little to offer, aside from the combining of 2 lvl 3 mods of high experimentation to equal the coveted lvl 6 mods, logic pertaining to the programming code governing droid assembly would rule this rumor out, by most probability.

Thank you both,
