Thread: Sorry to be a DE today :-(

Well, after what I have just read on these boards today, I won't be coming by for a while. Some of you guys really can just suck the life out of me with all this ranting, and I'm not even the one getting ranted on. With attitudes like some people have, the only thing I'm positive of is thatNOTHING will get changed. It'spretty bad when a DE doesn't even want to come to our own boards, so think for a second how the Dev's feel. Ohh, that must be joy unbounded.Until the people who live to rant and flame get a grip, I'm out.

Two accounts cancelled due to lack of Dev interest

The NGE, a sad end to a great game!

Those ppl ruin it for the rest of us.

Although I have to say that real 'hardcore' DE's (the ones that are a DE for at least 5 months now) arnt flamers or ranters.

I know some of us have been around for awhile. Things are really different around here than they used to be.

It's kind of hard to get anything done when any time the devs post anything everyone (well, not everyone) seems to scream how much it sucks.

Sometimes I think it would be better if the devs listened a little less to all the whining on the forums and just added the things that needed to be in the game.

It's kind of refreshing to read some of the comments that have been posted with the latest Publish announcements!

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

I made a post a while back on how the game was not a democracy and what the majority wanted wasn't always what should be done.... I think it got one-starred out of existance maybe.

'Tis a sad day when it has come to this. Hopefully people may realise that encouragement for proposed changescould improve things better than ranting on about how things are never going to improve.

Thank you Micco30, I have wanted to say that for a very long time. I am like you, I do not like coming to these forums to hear all the negative voices about the profession that I love dearly and am very passionate about. I have been a devoted droid engineer since I moved to the live galaxy and have never looked back since. I love the challenge of working around the nuances, glitches and gremlins, I love experimenting on all my droid components, I love fixing them all together into a chassis, I love making them squeak, squawk and bleep, I love painting them, but most of all I love the smile that a customer gives me when I hand them their new companion.

I don’t care how many components are broken or how this that or the other doesn’t work, it is all part of my chosen career. Please don't get me wrong, I am really looking forward to new and fixed modules, but until that time, I will be content with what I have.

Kindest regards,

Karlie.

I'm the same way, I just wish there were more of us out there.

/agreed.

Maybe they should make it that you have to be a leader in your communtiy to post here heheh. That way we wouldn't have all these "fly-by-night" DE's with a month experience and 10 posts under their belt piping up about how it sucks.

Frankly its frustrating to constantly see the ranters complain about this that or the other. I have been a DE for 7 months. I have watched with mild amusement some of the crazyness on this board. Maybe because Im older and more patient , but I am very happy with most of the elements of the profession (except for the fact that I have a some droids that cant do thier job) and the game overall. It is just a game afterall. My first online game was AC, a game full of nerfs, templates of the month and rampant cheating. I still enjoyed that game a great deal and only left when i could no longer take the cheating ( I was on darktide). All the complaining I see about star wars and the DE profession comes from that old sense of entitlement people feel this deserve. The me first attitude is very distressing.

Yup, me too!

What tends to frustrate me the most is the way that the patches tend to break as many things as they fix. All Vehicles having the minimum HAM of 1500 after the patch, regardless of resources used or experimentation,is just the latest example.
