I just bought a R2 unit, he is plenty cute , but all I get is a question mark when I ask him to group. Each time I bring him I out I get a message that his customization has faded away . He will follow me but I can't even seem to Rename him . Any idea or suggestions ?

The question mark you've been getting means that you've been trying to "Program" the droid's Group command...not actually GIVE it the command.

You do need to program a droid's commands before you can some of the features.

To program the droid's Group command (or any other):

1) Call the droid and, if needed, give a fresh battery (note: this is done by having a droid battery in your main inventory and then selecting "Recharge" from the droid's radial menu while it's called).

2) Select the "Program" menu from the droid's radial menus.

3) Select the command you'd like to program, in this case, "Group".

4) When you do this, you'll the droid float up a question mark, "?", about it's head as it awaits the command you will use. Say/speak the command you want to use for this in regular spatial text. If you want to name the droid "MyDroid", you would say "MyDroid Group" for example. This would set the Group command for that droid to "Group" and assign the droid a name of "MyDroid".

5) If the command was accepted correctly (which it almost always is), you'll see an exclamation mark "!" pop over it's head. This basically means that it has accepted the command "Group" to use for joining your group (or whatever it is that you're programming).

5) Say the word "Group" in regular spatial without using the "Program" menu on the droid's radial. You only have to say "Group". The droid should 'hear' the command and do its thing (as long as it has power at the time).

That's basically it. Let us know if you have other questions.

You might want to teach 4 commands with 'MyDroid <insert command of choice> cos thats the way to get the name to stick.

Customization fading is a helpful message saying your acrylics are sub standard, and the paint is peeling before your very eyes..nothing to worry about as the Droid will compensate in future by randomly re-spraying itself in tasteful shades of its own choosing

Tra La La All is well and there is nothing wrong at all.
