I did the profession of Droid Engineer to Master because my last holo was silent and I am currently looking for that elusive last profession before the Jedi revamp. I did not unlock but I did realize something. This has got to be the most component necessary, most exp to grind to master, most intensive profession out there. Anyone who is a Droid Engineer because it what they want to be, you have my utmost respect. This profession is not for everyone. I do pretty damn well with most of the professions I've mastered. Droid Engineer made me tired just thinking about making one droid. I gave it up yesterday but just wanted to let all you REAL Droid Engineers know that there is at least one person out there who respects you guys, even if the devs dont.

Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

Thanks ... I know my PA mates are shocked to hear how many subcomponents ONE droid needs.

I've been a master for 3 months now and it's definately a labour of love [or possibly a love of labour =) ]

It's both! Surviving critical fails, resource shortages and factory errors to see the "yay" of the owner as he/she generates the lil' rustbucket...almost brings a tear to the eye

I too have to salute you guys. I did BE and made some mean pets in my time, but as master DE....I am just overwhelmed at what all I need to make a droid. And people don't just want any droid, they want the best they can have...which saddly isn't all that great anyway.

Hats off to you folks.

I got my first completely disapointing moment as a DE this weekend. I finally got my combat modules outta the factory, so Im putting together a deed for a LE. I grab a chassis and make pretty much the best droid I can, (which is only a rating of 70 for each combat module). So its like 280, and I grab my small stash of Durralloy (?) to make my lvl4 armour module, get through it all and I have the best combat droid Ive built so far. 1969 in each category of HAM.

Its still deeded and I go to Coronet to sell off some old crappy harvesters on the bazaar. Some guy wants to know if I have a droid for sale, so I sell it and throw in TWO repair pack B's for 50K. End result, he seems disappointed by the purchase and wants to know if theres any better DE's on the server to get uber damage out of his droid. Heres like the best I can build andsweat over the darn thing, and its a crappy droid. Heck I built two fusion generators BER13 in less time than the one droid (all told), and Im like 0 4 4 1 architect. (its more of a hobby I picked up to build a few harvesters and get some fountains and gardens for my guild)

I dont know how the MDE's do it. Im in a nice guild where Ive been gifted most of my resources and Im still not self sufficient as a DE. I've made more money selling resources and small houses than droids. I have to go on hunts to support my factories and harvesters!

Kudos to anyone out there actually making money selling droids!

I like the ability to make thngs for the community (must be why I have 3 crafting profs). Seems the droid business is a little slow, but then again, I'm also in the middle of Lok, so that's gotta be part of it.

Lok should be the place to be for the dark side of Droid Engineering, what with the droidekas, the retired engineer and the droid cave. Odd thing on Chimaera is that Lok is predominantly Imperial in population, which strikes me as odd for a pirate planet. Sorry, bit OT.
