The big problem with droids today is their role in combat, and this is the reason I am posting this; to introduce a new option aside from Droid Handler and Elite certifications. Droid Handler is in my opinion a stupid concept, ot reeks of half-ass. Elite Skill box certifications are promising, and remain a viable option, one which i still support. The problem is how do we get effective combat droids into the general public, where they fit and where they are anticipated. As portrayed in the films, droids take on innumerable roles, and a substantial one is combat. This needs to be reflected in the game dynamic, however droids cannot be allowed to become the next Pokemon. The Devs problem with Elite Certifications is it makes the droids available to far to many people, you will have the CH days all over again. This proposal can still work, but needs fundamental reconsideration, although it appears that the Developers have already closed there ears to this idea altogether.

The Problem is, well, picture it this way you put a certification for more powerful creatures an elite box in the same fashion we have planned, You would get tons of people using high power creatures, because Elite or Hybrid combat professions are relatively common, what your introduceing is not only a flood of droids makeing them over prevalent, your sorta makeing them a mandatory requirement. Anything that will make a class better will be used, has a tendancy ove being overused, eventualy you wont ever see an elite combat master without his or her droid.

Don't worry, the old dups will drop down the list pretty fast, and the subject line won't encourage responses to bump them. What did "ro" mean anyway?

You have, unfortunately, missed the big problem with certifications.

The problem with strong combat droids (like CH pets) is that they offer huge advantages in PvE combat when used as tanks. Even a lv 15 pet with good HAM can delay a red mob from attacking you long enough to make a kill possible, and further reduce the risk by distracting them from the DB if you get incaped. As a result, there is a lot of leverage between combat skills and pet level. A CH needs master scout (with little combat advantage), but still had to be nerfed to keep the CH+Elite combat dabbler from soloing the largest mobs in the game. If that can be done, there is no content left for groups of maxed out characters.

So, the certs cannot be given in the places you are thinking. Elite combat professions are NOT going to get them. Artisan based elites could, as could Entertainer elitesor perhaps even Rangers.

It could still be a large population, but one with a different mix than you are thinking of.
