1. Do the devs care about this profession?

answer: no they do not. it is evident by their lack of communication and lack of work to make this a better profession. we have had 2 major patches, and basically the 2nd one fixed what the first one broke. with that being said, we have had ZERO posts by anyone in these forums. the class is being killed by lack of products to sell. everything is the same, and probots are weak. sure they can take a beating, but there is no real variety in them.

just a simple: yes, we are working on droidekas, or we are working on a 1500 HAM 80 dmg droid would be sufficient to us. but what we have recieved is no communication, and our correspondent is MIA. what this leaves us is a profession that is more or less broken, that is getting no attention to any of our knowledge

its not right when Master DE's are giving up the profession a week or so after hitting it. with that being said, would i recommend this profession to an aspiring DE? not at all. this profession has been a MAJOR disappointment. 99% of all DE's im sure share my sentiments, and EVEN if the dev's dont admit it, i'm sure they are truely disappointed with it.

so where does that leave us...i think all anyone wants to see is a glimmer of hope. a "yes we are working on xxx droid" or what have you. as it stands, there is NO profession more broken in the game than DE. and DE is a very important profession in this galaxy.

all i ask is for an update on progress...a simple update would suffice. please give us something to look forward to, or dont. if nothing is going to be done, please tell us, so that we can drop our DE skills, and new droid engineers dont waste their time in this profession

To me as a software developer, this language indicates that the new droids are in the pre-alpha phase, just past brainstorming. Granted, they have already developed some droids so have experience, but if it's taken this long for us to get coloring for our droids (which we still don't have), how long will NEW droids take?

I make a prediction: We will not see one new droid on a live server for 2 months. Anyone want to take my bet? If I win, I have bragging rights. If you win, great we get new droids sooner, and I will personally create a character on your server (if you're not on Naritus) and run missions with a CDEF pistol until I can pay you 15,000 credits!

So, I'm already a pistoleer and working on Ch. I was thinkign about De bc the De in my guild quit the game. At this point, I would have to sacrafice alot of what i have already worked for. Is this profession not worth it. I would like to be on ebut from what I've read and heard its worthless. Opinions and ideas welcome. i mean if "new" bots arent going to be added soon why should i attempt it

You probably wouldn't have enough skill points to master pistoleer, CH, and DE.. but that's a moot point because:

RUN FAR AWAY! DO NOT THINK ABOUT BEING A DE! ARGH! IT'S TOO LATE FOR US BUT NOT YOU!

I'm going to stick out Master DE for awhile and see what the devs do. If they don't do anything I'll probably drop it and do something else soon as the guild has another DE lined up.

I am waiting though, but for how long can we hold out making useless droids?

Well quite a long while honestly, I have made it this far making very few sales..

I can only assume my operationg expensies will go down at master since im not needing to constantly keep stocked mass quanitys of all resources for grinding..

Heh, once i get 30k of something at master I will stop mining it till i need more... hence my day to day expenses will be down

To me as a IT specialist/CS account manager, that can be something they blur out to shut you up. from MUD to SWG... I say "I'll believe it when I see it"

ok cyprian, ill take your bet except i dont want your money if you lose. I want you to low crawl across endor. From the very top of the map to the bottom. And if you die you have to start over. I will make a caracter there just to watch.

And if you win you can still kep the bragging rights.
