Thread: Why doesn't nov DE make MSE /w crafting stations and sell it on bazaar
Why not? I think a MSE with crafting station should be in the 3k bazaar limit so it can't be because of that. Is everyone busy grinding to become master (as in every other crafting profession).
Well thats what I plan on doing. I'm at 0/0/0/3 now and those frames will let me grind to the crafting station in no time (hope the steel holds up).
However I'll be installing them into R5s. I refuse to ever build an MSE-6 again. That grind was absolutely miserable.
Joblo tells you, "How much for an MSE-6 with crafting station?"
You reply to Joblo, "20k creds - 1.5k for station, 18.5k for the Mouse."

LOL, thats prolly why you dont see mse on the bazaar!
For me to sell an mse with a crafting station on the bazaar would basically cost me 15 to 20k on a sale I could get from an r5 or better droid. Not much incentive to do this the market is limited enough as is limiting it even more by doing this would be very self defeating.
I will make mice if asked but they cost the same as a r5 or I won't bother making them.
Kaid
Like many DE's, I too refuse to make an MSE with a crafting station. It's not just about the money, but about style and roleplaying. The mouse droid is just a little box with a motor and beepy speaker in it. Maybe it can have some data storage or a little item storage, but that's it.
Once novice DE's level up, they want to make their coolest droids, not more mouse droids. 800 to level up in two blueprint levels is enough for me.
I now make them just to test out effectiveness of medical, armor, data, and item modules (stacked and unstacked), then destroy them.
I'm guilty. I build them and put them on the bazaar. But, sales are so slow of these little guys Iwill probably discontinue this product line.
which to be honest doesn't bother me in the least.

The reason why not is because having the freedom given by owning a portable crafting station alone is worth 20k to many buyers. Also, if the buyer is careful with their utility droid (don't have it out in combat), it can be a one-time-only purchase. Put yourself in our position... after going through the grind to be able to make crafting stations, would you want to sell yourself short at just 3k for a one-time-only sale?
"Like many DE's, I too refuse to make an MSE with a crafting station."
That's just lame really. Do you think Creature Handlers used to say, 'I refuse to use 3 Rancors at once because that would make me too powerful', or imperials say, 'I refuse to use 3 AT-STs against creatures because it is too over-powering'.
Nope... why then should any DE be expected to make some sort of arbitrary decision to not play the game as implemented?
Jabetha, how about this reason then:
I can sell an MSE with a crafting station for 2k (I have done this before long ago),
or
I can sell an advanced R2 with a crafting station for 20k (I have done this before many times).
That's another reason I do it. ![]()
Also Jabetha, here's another reason why.
Because, as someone said, it's both not in our best interest and it also represents some of the fundamental flaws with Droid Engineers in the negative way.
Creature Handlers knew that three Rancors represented what was wrong with CH profession. However, it was in their benefit, and thus they abused it. Imperials know that everyone having three pet AT-STs represent a broken facet of the game world, but again, it's to their benefit, so they use it.
However, a Mouse droid with a Crafting Station also represents a broken facet of the game world, but it is *not* to our benefit. Despite whatever philosophical beliefs a person has about what droids should do, it is also a waste of money to sell MSE's with crafting stations. You spend all that time to grind up, and what do you get from it? Little 3k sales items that, as someone already stated, can very well end up being one-sale items for customers. It is an incredible waste.
So unlike the Rancors or the AT-STs, it is not to our benefit to sell those buggers. Then just staple on the idea that a rolling box shouldn't be able to have a Crafting Station in the first place, and then you have plenty of reason not to sell them.
