Thread: Experimenting?? I am soooo confused!
Hey guys!
Well I have a couple questions about experimenting. One is droid specific the other is more general crafting.
First the DE one. Is experimenting on parts to build droids doing anything or am I just wasting my time? On somethings I do see a stat changing on successful (or failure, for that matter)experiments, but as a whole does this have ANY effect on my final product? Probots max out at 820 HAM right? is there anything on these or any other droid that I can really improve by experimenting? I realize this was bugged at one point but I have read that it should no longer be. And I do also see the 0% durability problem, but isn't this just supposed to be completely gone? And if experimenting is not doing anything, do we know if this is by design or a bug. If this is by design I think I will explode. It would make no sense that a weaponsmith can make a better weapon than the next guy but I can't make a better droid than the next guy. WEAK. Well I am sure much of this has been said before I apologize if that is the case. I have seen many questions and answers to this but it has been hard for me to figure out which are up to date.
My second, more general crafting, question is, does it really matter to experiment on something that doesn't show any stats in the attribute box any? for example Weapons upgrade kits and many of the master artisan electronic components. I don't so why it would if there is nothing to track. Seems like all we are doing is watching the pretty bar get bigger (or smaller).
Thanks for any help guys!

First of all for artisan stuff, for weapon upgrade kits I am pretty sure it makes a difference but I have not tested it myself. For Electronic componets I have no idea, I mean how would it be any different expecially after putting them in droids? But it is easy to experiment on these so I usually do and always experiment on factory schematics.
As for droids I think it affects the HAM slightly but not much, most of the parts don't seem to make any difference whatsoever. But I usually try to experiment on the crafting modules just incase it makes a difference. And yeah I guess we don't get durability anymore.
it's pretty simple, and often overlooked. the higher the quality of the individual subcomponents of a droid (brain, arm, sensors, etc...) the LOWER the risk of a crit on the final assembly. If you're using all components with a NEGATIVE quality, your risk of crit is higher.
I've tested this agreat number oftimes, and I never ever ever have critted on a combine of a droid with all positive quality components.

If i put in all highly experimented on Master Artisan pieces, the seeker droids and probe droids go up 7% effectiveness. Using the exact same resources...
I on the other hand have no idea if this value assists the BH using said droids.
