Can anybody tell me?

I'm seein a couple here and there on vendors that say they have composite armor segments and such in them. What exactly are they good for?? I can't imagine them being a "combat" droid, so why the armor improvements? Is the composite segment a necessity in building them and THATS why people are charging 65K+ for 'em? Are they just cool to look at? =)

Any info would be appreciated! THANKS

Level 5 and 6 Droid Armor Modules require Composite Segments from an Armorsmith, so that's probably what it refers to. It's nothing special other than higher level armor.

As for their usefulness, they have absolutely none right now. You can't even put modules in them to make them a big mobile crafting station. They can't fight, or do anything other than follow you around and look cool. =)

As for the price, they take a ton of materials, some of them very rare, and many different factory identical parts to make, so they tend to be priced accordingly. =)

I made myself one and used to walk around town with it. Then everyone telling me it was cool and asking me what it did and having to tell them it did absolutely nothing got me kinda down so I stopped. =)

Seems that way with DE, hehe. Had a guy stop in tonight...

Customer: Can you make R2? Like in the movies?
Me: Yes I can, what modules did you want?
Customer: Modules?

So I explain to him what the different modules do...

Customer: I don't really need any of that, I'm not a crafter or a medic, I just want one because it looks cool. The data might be useful...
Me: Actually, it only holds schematics right now...
Customer: Oh... How about item storage?
Me: It's limited to 10 items max...
Customer: Oh...
Me: And to be honest colors are bugged so it'll come out looking slate blue and dark red, not like R2 in the movies....
Customer: Oh...

I ended up selling him an ADV R2 chassis with R2D2 colorsfor his house which he thought was perfect.

*sigh*
