Thread: DE problem in insane and should be priority ONE FOR DEVS
Actually, SWG is set between Ep. 4 and 5. How many battle droids did you see in A New Hopeand Empire Strikes Back? I can only think of one (IG-88).

I like the idea of a DE at some level being able to pull out more droids. It is absurd that a DE can't repair their own probot.
Second I am really surpised that based on how SOE has arranged this game so that you must depend on other professions that there is no weapons module that only a high level WS can make.
Sorry couldn't resist! You have valid points; we all wish they would do any of what you say; our top issue is better powered probots or better combat droids; it's gonna be a long while.
Thanks for your support for us!

I could not agree more! The large cities have been turned into cowardly gurrcat petting zoos.
I am of the opinion that too much emphasis is placed on the need for combat-related droids. Droids, at least in the time of SWG, were really about utility. My pipedream droid improvement for SWG would be for every profession (or at least profession class) to have at least one droid or droid module that would be useful to members of each profession. Artisans, medics, and bounty hunters already have this, but what about the others? I think that would be an interesting discussion about what could beuseful droid/droid modules for the likes of entertainers, scouts, all fighter classes, etc.
This is crazy, one battle droid? Did the devs miss the first two movies? All there are are batttle droids, now let the de's craft the.
I'm so sick of walking into town and seeing a pokemon convention. Having tanking creatures is one thing but this is starwars the majoirty should be droid tanks.
Furthermore, why is the probot the only battledriod? Its a scout droid? can hardly be considered combat effective.
Solutions: from easiest to most difficuls
1. Let use use three driods at a time and let de's use six if there masters, why? becasue three probots, now we're talking that acually would be useful
2. Make at least 4 new battle droids aprox cl or cl 10, cl 15, cl 25, cl 35. Alow for customizable weapons, ex melee model for tanking ranged model for destroyind
3. Once this is done allow des to make vehicles, at st quality vehicle whY? at sts are already in damage is done, nerfs will not destroy the ones, many, that already exist. Let de's make tanks for people to control to combat these.
4. DO IT NOW
rational: Rich artisans should be combat effective, i am not one, because in starwars rich folk can afford better toys. so elite combat types not as enlightened as myself might complain but its silly becaseu the grind for crafters sucks beyond anything us elite combat types do. Simply by buffing de abilities balance will be adjusted across the board. Now most droids and de vehicle suggested should be made so they really cant hit a target outside of 40m's simply to allow pcs to run its only fare.
ilcoz, expand comment repost revise etc, btw not a de either, and i know most has been sugested, but i don't think anyone gets how strog de's should be in the starwars universe
In response to Drashk's comments.
1) lairs and such would not become harder in my opinion. Being able to have Non-CH pets that can do 150-160 damage and up to 2400 HAM is ok.... But for god sakes give us a droid that can at least compare to that. If anything, the game would become more balanced with Probots being buffed up a little bit. Probots are lucky to have 850 health and do 50-70 damage. I have a pet that is much more durable and effecient than my Probot and that makes me mad considering i am a DE.
2) DE's should be able to have out more than one droid at a time.... pure and simple. If a Master CH can have 3 pets at once, then allow me to have 3 droids at once as a master DE. Look at it this way, As a Master CH, you can have 3 pets. As a Rebel or Imp, you can have 3 faction support troops out at once. Having the use of multiple droids at once just makes sense. It will make DE's a move profittable and playable class. Even in the movies Luke had 3PO and R2 out at once.... imagine how annoying it would have been for him to store one and pull out the other!
3) Combat droids are essential to the game. We are playing Star Wars and droids, combat or otherwise, are a part of it. 4-Lom, IG-88, Battle droids, Droidikas (SP?), security droids.... all of these are very evident in the movie. I think the Devs should at least put in one other combat droid and make it something worth having.
4) DE's need an overhaul to the "humanoid" droids. These things are all but useless when they only have about 60HAM and my R2 has around 240HAM and are more module friendly (oh, and they can have more armor too). This should be addressed immediately. Nuff said
Those are my thoughts... and I for one think they are valid. Come on Devs... step it up!

This one may not be considered a true battle droid, since it started out differently, but let us on forget 4-LOM.

Anyhow. The extended univeres of Star Wars actually has a lot of reference to different kinds of combat droids. There is an inherent problem with adding more Combat Droids, unless things are handled in the correct fashion, or what will happen is the life of the Noob will become harder. How many have figured out a couple of the reasons for buffing up lairs and the creatures. How many CHs do you see running around each time you play. Well, thank all of these hapless victims for those increases. Why are they to blame you ask? What kind of damage can a decent non-CH pet do? Well, lets not forget how many CHs there are running around. I bet you that the number of CHs compared to the number of DEs is about 20 to 1, if not greater. CHs tip the balance in combat, by providing any character with a level 15 or less combat ready pet, that do a heck of a lot more damage than a Probot can do.
I'm sorry, but the Probot is a darn tough little fighter, when you compare it to the ohter non-CH pets that I have seen. So what, they can't dish out the damage CH pets can do, but from what I have seen, they can sure the heck take a lot more damage than a non-CH pet can. If you're looking for something to do all of the fighting for yo, join the Empire and get an AT-ST. If you want a challenge in the game and what to learn how to really fight a good fight, get a Probot.
Yes, more combat droids are a great idea for more sales, but not if anyone will be able to use them. Think of what some people are asking for....more combat droids, more droids out at one time, being on par with non-CH and CH pets. Well if we are given these 'Uber' Droids, then what will happen is Destroy missions will get harder, creature lairs will become even more fortified, and the MOBs will be come more aggressive. What would the point to combat if some noob could call out 1 non-CH pet and 2 combat droids, that each did more damage than he could do on his own, with that CDEF Pistol. All the Noob would have to do is sit back and watch as his pets did all the work and he gets the XP and credits for it.
Ok, getting off my soap box now.
