And I want to be able to select one of my activated surveillance droids, and have my screen and controls switch to the droid's POV. Let me 'drive' the droid to create a patrol path, and let me choose to select visuals from the droid at any time. The droid should only have visuals, no radar or such.

Imagine the possibilities, for fun, for mischief, AND for the GCW.

Imagine a raiding party needing to time the patrol routes of the surveillance droids, because they know someone might be watching the screen...

Awesome idea, tho these type of droids would have to be faction linked. Otherwise the coverts would be incharge of them and never worried about them getting "popped".

This is basically what I do with my ranger right now. I can watch my pa's hq by using areatrack to detect anyone within 500m i don't recognize. I'm not sure I would like this functionality to be emulated by a droid though without limits to some extent, its the same argument as healing droids or entertaining droids, the only way this would work and be acceptable by the community is if their functionality did not rival people who mastered the professions. ie healing droids can't heal anywhere near as well as a medic, entertaining droids don't heal as well as entertainer and surveillance droid's don't monitor areas as well as rangers.

One thing that would be pretty cool though would be a flying covert scanner. Just seeing people without radar and not knowing whether or not they are neutral or overt or covert on your side will do no good. YOu would have to be able to target them or something. Especially without names it would just look like any old person approaching.
