canyou let us know what the Dev Teams' collective take is on the fact that so many view the current incarnation of SWG as 'Pet Wars'?

Well, basically, the feeling is "this is going to be hard to fix."

Our first thought is to enhance droids so that it can at least become Droid Wars, which is Star Warsier.

LOL - i'm REALLY slow on the draw i was going to post this too - it sure sounds like good news to me. I got into Droid Engineer with the certainty that, eventually, we will be pretty darned cool. I knew I wasnt wrong - and this proves it

I love this DEV team btw after contending first with EQ then DAoC then AC2 ... this is MUCH fresher and MUCH more fun!

Wow..I got an idea..how about a driod with around 3k HAM, 150-250ish dmg and 1.5speed that everyone can use. Might just be the cure!

That will likely be the Droideka - but i doubt they will let everyone use it or it will be around worse than the CH shiz. My guess will be some sort of certification for it...

I say this all the time then I say on second thought I dont think I will do this.

This quote was soo unhelpful. Holo I wish you could have one of your developers give us a response to our needs. The statement you made makes no reference to what your ideas actually are or what kind of timeframe we are looking at.

Where is the content we DE's need to make ourselfs a vialble profession? Ever since I have started playing this game (1.5 months ago) I have heard no response from a developer or from you Holo to our problems. This statement was so generalized that its making me even more disappointed in this game and in you developers as a whole. Communication is key to keeping your customers happy. Honesty will make your customers love you hiding beind the curtin will only make us confused hurt and disappointed. Any news in regards to what you have in mind would eliminate so much worry and frustration right now. I just really wished you guys read these boards. *sigh*

Even if it doesn't provide specifics, it at lets us know that they are thinking about it

You know sketh I would agree with you but not today. That comment was just generic. It was thrown out there with the hopes to quell down the yelling in regards to the "pet" problem. It gave us no idea on how they are going to do this or even if they have anyone looking into it. We have never even gotten a response from a developer yet to our current problems. Holo has made efforts with other professions in this regard but he always seems to be dancing around the DE problem all together.

I just can't see how this is good news when there was no real news in it at all.

It was roughly 6 six weeks ago that BEs heard any details on what fixes the BE profession was going to get (the fixes on the test server now are only half of what was promised 6 weeks ago). Unfortunately for the DE profession I think that means that DEs are looking at probably 2+ months beforeDE changesmake it to the test server. Unless of course the DE dev has been working on droid changes for a while now but has just kept his/her mouth shut.
