Ok folks. It's been at least a day since the last poll on the future of DEs. Let's try this one. Please just vote in this thread. Start a new thread for discussions. It'll make it a whole lot easier for Drashk to add it up.

I want the new DE plan to be the following:

1. Keep the existing DE tree intact. (No changes)

2. Add high-level combat droids, useable by everyone,to the DE tree with no certifications required.

3. Add high-level combat droids to the DE tree, but make it a certification system so that only high-level PCs can use them.

4. Add high-level combat droids to the DE tree, but make it a certification system so that only high-level PCs can use them, but make an uber-droid that only an MDE can use.

5. Add only DE-only combat droids to the existing tree and give DEs a bonus per box for using them.

6. Add combat droids for everyone, but DEs get a bonux per box for using them.

7. Go to the BE/CH model and make a DE/DH.

8. Just add combat modules to existing chassis and no certifications required to use them.

#4 is my vote + add bonus slots for droids to DEs

Of the choices presented, I like #s 3, 4 and 6 the most.

If I was forced to pick one, I'd probably stick with #3. If MDEs get any kind of profession-specific droid, I would think it's function wouldn't really be combat-related.
