Here are a couple uses I've found for droids you may or may not find interesting.

They took out that releasing thing 
I used to release them and brawl with them too (or have them battle each other), but that's gone now

I've always found making MSE's, releasing them, and shooting them to be fun. Makes up for all that grinding i did to get to blueprints I, well, kinda.

I thought I would make a post about what uses droids could have in SWG, cos curently I can't see them doing much in SWG, however I have just got the game, so maybe I haven't see everything yet.
So here are some of my ideas:
1. Instead of manually loading power and paying for maintainance into harvestors, you could program the droid to go about your resource farm and do this for you.
2. Have it so a lot of professions can do better with the use of droids. For example a mines efficiancy could be increased by useing a droid. The droid could go up to a harvestor, interface with it and increase speed and the quality of the resource you get out of the mine.
3. Have to droids gather resources from your harvestors.
4. Make vehicles have fuel suplies and have it so droids can refuel them, also have it so they can repair the vehicles (Actually I think there should be a whole "Mechanic" profession, so you can put diffrent engines ect in vehicles but thats a diffrent post).
5. Make is so its a lot harder to learn languages so that instead people will want a protocol droid to translate.
There are probally a lot of other things aswell, this is Star Wars droids are genrally ment to be there to make everyones lifes easier and help people do better jobs. I think this is done in SWG with Medical Droids but I don't see it in many other places.

Hey David,
Sorry to say those are all suggestions made a million times before... its good though to see the same ideas pop up from other people than the original posters...it just goes to show that we all are on the same frequency when we ask for utility that matters.
