Im sure this has been adressed before but I couldnt find it in the FAQ or by a simple search.
Essentially I have a client who is novice pilot and wants a single astromech which will last all the way up to Level 6. Can an adv R3 stuffed with each of the data modules from 1 to 6 work? I am worried that he may show up as being uncertified since the droid will contain data level modules that are higher than he is certified to use. Although you dont have to be certified to use a data module. But who knows how the astromech title plays into this? anyone?
thanks,
kaasi

Never tried it, but they should all just stack to a single level 6. So no... in theory

I have tried it, they do indeed just stack. Your customer will have to buy one astromech for each level. You can offer some utility to the droid by dropping in a level 6 item storage module though, at least that way it still serves some purpose after the pilot progresses past that level.

Yea Kaasi, it wont work. They are forced to buy multiple droids. They make plenty of credits in space, make them fork out the money.

As we're just at Astromech Questions... my droids (non-astromech) are listed when equipping my ship, although it's a Dunelizzard.
I can't load them into the ship, as they are not astromechs, but how are things with an R3 with all accessoires? Can that one be loaded into a freelancer ship, or can i only use flight computers?
(Might be a stupid question, and it's sure no problem to stick with flight computers, but an droid simply is way cooler...)

Wow, 1 starred for a question even after checking the FAQ and using the search feature. I expect that in the BH forum but not here.
Thanks for the replies. I havent gotten my JTL vendor off the ground yet, but this info will really help. I plan on just offering R5's with a single data module.

Apparently we had a bandit who one-starred all posts on the front page of the DE forum. Don't take it personally.

Kaasi,
Toss a storage module in there as well and add 10k.
For every one that I sell without storage, I sell 4 with storage. People don't mind the 10k, they like the storage.

sylow sadly, only the rebel A-wing, X-wing, and a couple more models that have leaked out of my brain (which is more of a sive than a ladel) are only able to use the droid for the astromech computer, the rest have to use the flight computers.
