I just learned an ugly lesson.
I created several Adv R3 'Tank' droids, loading them up with 6 Auto repair modules.
/doh
Without a combat module, all I was able to create was several really-expensive droid travel chargers!
I created another Adv R3, this time with one crappiest-that-i-could-make combat module and 5 auto repair modules. (Combat level 10)But itwas hitting for roughly 50 pts of dmg.
So I ask, anyone else bothering with selling 'Tank' droids other then the Adv Probots?

I ran made about 100 LE Rapiar 'Tank Droids' with 2 Repair and 1 Combat Module, thinking they had the biggest HAM etc. I have managed to sell 2 inone month. Very disappointing.
I have not tried R3's yet as I dont want to waste res and time on stuff that doesn't sell. Maybe I am just unlucky.

R3 droids precisely how you made the 2nd one work great for me, I never hunt alone without one. Even at 50 points of damage their firing rate is usually 2x as slow as a probots, and with the longer battery life from a couple of patches ago they stay charged for much longer withthe auto repair running.
The only other droid I'd consider for tanking would be the LE Repair droid because of the larger HAM, but they're so dang slow that it gets frustrating when you're roaming. RX units andProbots keep up quite well on the other hand - if you'reon foot that is

I use the LE's for tanking. I find the two auto repair work pretty good at keeping them up, with the occasional dash in for a quick stim job.
On lairs I like the LE's cause I can sic'em on the lair, and have all the nasties aggro on him. Then plink away with my rifle. Once the nasties are done with, I call back the droid, and he stays by my side while I finish the lair off. Then I store him and drive off. 15 second call time is not so bad, forces me to inspect the situation instead of blinding entering combat.
R3's seem to have an annoying trait when I use them, they switch between ranged and melee several times, meaning you never know where the mobs might end up next!

That is true, the R3 are a little over-active in their combat at times, the LEs are more predictable...and it's great when they yell stuff out with a personality chip in them
Still though, I feel that the R3 are the better value because their auto-repair is more significant too, and the ability for them to switched between melee and ranged has saved me more times than it's caused me harm.

Kinda unlucky. Would i've gotten your advertisement mail 2 days earlier, you would've sold 3 of them at least.

The beauty of these droids comes from using them in groups. They heal each other as well of themselves.

Hmm, the beauty i see is when i return from a stroll around my house, have 500 units of freshly harvested meat in my pocket and didn't take a single wound...
