Thread: Who else actually uses a DZ70?

For roleplaying, and just for fun purposes, I've had my DZ70 droid out non-stop since I reached intermediate blueprints. I'd take him out hunting, but only use him on the camps after all the guys around it were destroyed.

Well myself, being a Creature Hander (as lowly as I am), and an Imperial with a Storm Trooper, I can actually use my DZ70 in combat now.

The mobs seem to focus on my Peko Peko (appropriatley named Peko-Chu =]) instead of Flux, my DZ70. So as pointless as it is, I'm getting an extra 20-30 damage in on top of the 150 my Peko does, and the 200 my trooper does.

I only lost 1 DZ70 so far doing this, when I attacked a mob that conned a bit lower than it really was, thanks to having my trooper grouped with me. But doing the imperial destroy missions in Bestine, I've had plenty of success doing this.

Of course the DZ70 does such a pathetic amount of damage that it's not like I notice a difference, but at least I can send my DZ70 into battle without it being killed.

I rarely sell a DZ70 primarily for its combat facility since perma-death was introduced (oddly though they did sell prior to that)

I've stopped selling DZ70's now (I'm a merchant not a DE right now) regardless of how cheap I can get them (and I can get them pretty cheap) as I'm just trying to move the last of my stock

I use mine with a healing mod in it. Basically just because it floats and seems to follow me better and not get stuck so much.

I've only used it for combat once. It's a one-hit wonder so only use it for combat if you know it will not get hit (even by a gnort).

I sell em like crazy with crafting stations in em. Seems that folks like its speed.

I have one I carry around with me, just because I can. I've only sold a grand total of ONE DZ70, with a medical module in it.

I do, they don't require extrusive ore (and that is rare on my server)

though are they limited to armour lvl2? i installed an armor lvl3 module on one last night (that has droid crafting and repair modules on) and tamed it the armor had light and resistances of 40% I just got armlvl 3 and repair modules. Or is Lvl 3 armor bugged. Haven't installed it on a probot yet.

I've acctualy gottena fewrequests for them with item storage modules in them. Of course I do explain that to them that you can't retrieve items off a dead droid but they still want them.

I've made and sold a few of the basic models here and there. think a large part of the droid market right now may just be for the looks. Even if they don't really work like they should it's nice to have a droid to follow you around, or patrol your haouse to guard against any baby Whomp Rats that may've been brought by a shuttle from Tatooine.

I made one as an experiment, took it out and told it to fight a Gnort. It died in two blows, having hit the gnort so little I didn't see any damage showing on its HAM bar. Haven't made one since.

The DZ70 is pretty much useless - although as someone pointed out they are fairly quick.

If they bumped up the HAM on them to something effective and made it so it can do noticeable damage I am sure they would be quite popular. Floating droids have an appeal all their own...

Well the only use I can even see for a DZ70 is to make the advanced unit and put two Data modules in it and sell them to creature handlers. Just hope they don't get attacked.

Dz70s die to a stern look by a monster, but sell well with crafting stations in. Most people think they look cool.

It is also fun to program the follow target command as "spy" or "DZ spy" or something similer just to mess with people, weather you know them or not.
