Thread: Binary Load Lifters & Protocol Droids
With the exception of the advanced protocol droid, none of the droids you mentioned do anything at all other than look pretty.

Droids in general do nothing with the exception of probots "doing" combat. Surgical droids don't do healing or help healing. I like to describe droids as "shells" for modules. The modules "do" everything. This means a lvl 6 medical module is currently as effective in an MSE as it is in a medical droid.
Again, probots are the only droids that have some "built-in" function and that is combat..."viable combat" (for all those people who know everything...you know who you are

In case you weren't aware... you can use a General Module Socket Cluster in any open module slot. Therefore you can embed them within one another. Basically you can squeeze every single module into one cluster and then insert that into an MSE Mouse. Some say it is a bug... I say it is now a 'feature' since it has been around throughout beta and yet to be addressed.
So... anything beyond a Mouse is just a waste of resources.
There are6 Droids that have a specific function:
Probot (base and advanced models) - "Advanced" combat droid. It is currently our most powerful combat droid, with a HAM around 815 and damage in the 50 - 53 range.
DZ70 (base and advanced models)- "Basic" combat droid. Actually to call this a combat droid is to do a diservice to all other droids, but it's the only other droid we can make that has an "Attack" command we can program. HAM in the 40 range and I don't even remember what the damage is, it's fairly unmemorable.
Power (base and advanced models) - This Droid has the innate ability to "heal" other Droid's Mind wounds. This can also be accomplished using droid batteries, but if you and your friends are in the field with an army of Probots and they are all accumulating large black areas on their Mind bars, just set up camp and whip out your Power Droid, will be alot cheaper than dumping a few cases of batteries, and takes up less space 
There are3 Droids that have no appearent function at all:
Protocol (base model) - The base model Protocol droid has no slots to install any modules at all, and no appearent innate ability, making this an expensive piece of walking furniture. It does look good though
Binary Load Lifter (base and advanced models) - The behemoths of the Droid family look great, but serve absolutely no purpose right now other than using up a ton of specific types of steel and many identical factory made Advanced Motivators. No module slots in either the base model or the advanced, but the advanced model can hold 3 armor mods, not that that matters with current armor caps in place.
Other than that, at least for the time being, no other Droid has any built-in functionality that is specific to itself. Any other Droid can be made carry any module able to be made, a complete list of which can be found in numerous places on the web. The "MAIN" difference between various Droid models, other than those list above, is in the number of module slots they hold (bug with clusters not-withstanding).
