Just curious? Does it actually seek out people that are off the radar? By name or something?

I'm no bounty hunter, but from what I gather, it is able to inform you of your mark's current location, along with perhaps direction and speed? An arakyd probe is used to find which planet they're on, followed by seekers to locate the person once you arrive on the same planet.

IIRC using a seeker gives the BH a waypoint for the targets position - however I believe the target moves thus needing multiple seekers to complete the mission

By comparison the Probe droid (not to be confused with Probot) tells the BH what planet the target is on

When a BH uses them do they get the information instantly? Or does it take a few minutes? Is there any animation like the seeker droid appearing next to the BH, then zooming off?

So then the only ones who can use it, or has need of it, is a BH?

Yes, the only profession that can use them are bounty hunters.

Hi DE's, I'm a Bounty Hunter that's been buying mass amounts of these things so I'll try to explain how they are used so that you'll have a better idea of what you are actually making them for. First, only BH's with investigation 1+ need the use of droids to complete their missions.

The Arykad (Imperial Probot), is the initial droid we have to use. It's a one time use droid, after attainingthe bounty's"bio-signature" from an informant, one must travel outside of a city to deploy the droid.It'ssimple, you just open up your inventory -- thenbring up the radial menu and select "Find Bounty". A 20 second countdown timer starts. At the end of the timer, the droid crashes down to theground from space, look around you, then run up to it and input the bio signature via radial menu. It flies away and in about 5 minutes you get an update on what planet your bounty is on.

This is where the Seeker comes in. After landing on whatever planet your bounty is on, you launch a seeker to get a waypoint. Again, you open up your inventory, bring up the radial menu on the seeker and use "Find Bounty". These are one time use also, after launching one, it simply flies away and in 5 minutes time or so, updates a waypoint on your map (looks and functions just like a destroy mission waypoint).

Basically, the imperials are for a galactic search and the seekers are INTERplanetary.

The thing is, your bounty is going to be on the move andrunning to a starport. So depending on how far he is away from you, it's possible that youmight have to update his location a few times to get a good feel of where he'll be when you finally get to him. A lot of people that are just starting this are going to be using a lot of seekers because they are still trying to get a feel of how fast the bounty's actually move. Not to mention that a lot of the missions are bugged, so we might end up using sets and sets of droids with no xp gains.. just losing money. As they progress the invesitgation line,they'll acquire bonuses to the speed and precision of seeker droids, so that'll help also. Mostly though, its just time, you see a lot of people in invest 1 that'll use 5 or 6 seekers for justone mission (which is 100 xp)... after he becomes accustomed to these missions, it'll be 2 seekers tops. You learn to be patient, to time your seeker launches, to neverever run towards the waypoint, rather, cuthim off because you're running to whereheWAS. I've met some great DE's on my server that I have become friends with -- would've missed out on some awesome people if the droid terminals where still there.Hope this helps.

Thanks for the great info Eloeth, I'm a new DE who had only an inkling of an idea of what a BH does. This helps a lot...and is kinda facinating to boot.
