Thread: Naming a Droid with a Personality Chip
I purchased an R5 with no personality chip installed and used the (name) (command) format to give him a name when programming him.
However, I've since purchased a Medical Droid with a personality chip and I can't seem to find a way to name him. I tried using the same (name) (command) structure under the Converse - Teach Command option, but to no avail.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Tyl
First off, only Humanoid Droids can have a personality chip installed. This was changed many months back. just FYI.
Secondly, none of the Humanoid style droids can be programed with a name. This is one of those bugs that has been around since release. It is related to the different style of programming the droid.

Actually you could name these at one time. However, when the fix came for the personality chips to work you could no longer name them. I had a medical droid I named Nine, I gave him to a friend and after the chips started working he retained his name and behaved just as other droids with personality chips. So you could at one time but not since. A fix to a bug caused another bug, but one that is not game breaking so it will take time before it gets fixed, if it is in fact a bug and if it is supposed to be fixed.

Ok. I was going off of info that I found back on 07-07-03 that made mention to not being able to program names in converse droids.
