Hello Fellow Droid Engineers;

I have been lurking in this forum for quite some time, reading up on the issues that plague us and the ideas that the community has been kind enough to offer to fix them. I have found myself agreeing and enjoying most of these ideas and I hope that they prove fruitful for our profession.

I do wish to make a concern known. It has been a long standing complaint that droid frames do nothing. It is possible to make a MSE just as good as any other droid in our profession. I wholeheartedly agree with the concernswith this problem, though I feel the solution offered by the community may cause another problem.

Most post I have seen voiced on the issue would like frames to be set to certain tasks. While this would certainly solve the problem. I fear that it would severely limit the sense of style that our customers now enjoy with being able to chose frame that matches the look they want.

Instead of restricting modules to certain droid frames, why not instead, give some frames bonuses to the module(s) that fit them best. These bonuses could be added features to the frame, or raised effectiveness of the modules inside of them.

For Example, you could allow the frame bonus of the LE Repair Droid to heal "white damage" on Droids.

MSE's could have a Data module effectiveness raised to a bonus 20% of the module installed (you would have to adjust the cap on the frame, or all frames to allow this to work for most modules).

IF the Developer's Idea of the Surgical droid healing becomes too unbalancing you could have the medical module effectiveness raised. Perhaps you can even do both.

Astromechs could have a smaller boost to all modules placed, since they are the jack of all trade droids.

This could apply to combat droids as well, instead of just making a better combat droid at master. You can make some combat droids that deal great damage, but don't last long, as others that can tank lots of damage but don't dish it out very fast. Certifications can be granted to droid frames that match the theme of the profession and to allow for balance among the classesI.E. Assassin Droids for Bounty Hunters.

I feel that this will solve the issue without forcing someone that really likes the look of the DZ 70 for useas a crafting droid, to pick another Droid simply because of preconceived notions of what modulesshould be placed where.

/agree

Also, when they fix experimentation, you could use your experiment points to enhance that chassis ability so that if you are making say an r unit with crafting stations, you can increase the effectiveness more on the w/d/g station than the food and chemical. That idea is awsome!
