Thread: Droid Data Modules, Waypoints, and Patrol
Amazingly, I do use my data modules to store schematics. One droid has almost 20 schematics in it!!!
Of course, data modules hold up to 150 elements. Does anyone save that many schematics?
What I'd really like to do is store Waypoints in my droid. I could load up a droid with all of the obscure shops and scenic WPs that I rarely go to but don't want to forget, and thereby un-clutter my day-to-day datapad.
Also, I'd like to set a few Waypoints in my droid, then Activate them and tell the droid to Patrol -- and have the droid move from WP to WP as his patrol route!
This would provide the following benefits and no drawbacks I can think of:
1. More use for the data modules.
2. Better patrolling
3. Ability to have a droid remember patrol routes with existing code concepts.
4. Ability to change patrols without deleting old WPs (by activating and de-activating WPs for patrol).
Any other thoughts on better uses for data modules or better ways to handle patrol routes?
Yes, long term storage of schematics is problematic. But, How often to you find that the trade function doesn't work? Or, what to trade with some one your not allow to? Or, heh, don't want to get a TEF?
I've used Data and Item storage in droids jut to do a trade. Place item/data in droid and trasfer. (as long as you trust the person your trading with to return it)
This is the Best use for Data storage I've found.

B and M Droids and Pets. (Crystal Oasis, Dantooine)
Droid Data modules originally could hold all data. Waypoints, Missions, Pets or schematics. However, CHs were using these droids to hold 150 pets. And people were taking more than 2 missions at a time by storing missions in pets (over 100 missions at a time for some people).
So, SOE decided that only schematics can be stored in droid data modules.
I think you are the 1st person to say that you actually store schematics in pets. Given the rapid turnover of resources, most people never bother to save schematics as they become useless rather quickly as the resources they are based on dissapear.
