Thread: Skill Attachments Explained (read before using)
Currently, only the highest modifer will apply to the piece of clothing or armor you drop it on to. A skill tape with +2 Droid Experimentation and +5 Bleed Resist will only give the Bleed Resist.
Furthermore, if there are multiple skills with the same plus, it is random which one will be chosen. An item with +2 skill A, +2 skill B, +1 skill C will come out with either skill A or B. Of course, if skill C was +3, you'd get skill C.
Finally, you cannot stack modifiers of the same type in one item! If the item already has the skill modifier do not try to add more of the same, they will vanish and you will not be reimbursed for the loss.
How about an explaination of what each droid engineer skill tape will do for a person? I have several not installed yet and I am wondering if I even should until after a patch fixes our situation.
Examples: DE's do not buy Droid Speed skill tapes. They are for bounty hunters, not DE's. Don't waste your ctedits.

You know what the droid complexity skill tapes do. I have seen sturcture and armor complexity also
Good idea, here we go:
- Droid Experimentation - This is the big one. An additional +10 will give you another experimentation point, and +20 will give you two. The limit is two additional points of experimentation, don't bother trying to get more than +20.
- Droid Assembly - Reduces your chances of critical failure.
- Droid Customization - This seems to be a useless modifier, as even a novice has access to a full range of colors. Even with +10 Droid Customization, no noticeable differences have been recorded.
- Droid Complexity - This skill no longer exists in the tree, but is still dropped. When equiped, it is reported as an 'invalid skill'. It is unknown if it will be used again or simply has not been removed from the loot tables.
These are Bounty Hunter Skills, useless to us DE's:
- Droid Precision
- Droid Speed
- Droid Tracking Speed
Additionally, remember that the maximum effective bonus is +25. Anything over that will not give you any benefit. Even if you have an additional +50 Droid Experimentation, you'll still only get an additional two points to play with, not five.
So if I have a belt that has +3 Droid Experimentation, and +1 Artisan Assembly.. I don't get the Artisan assembly modifier?

Again... I have to say this is false. Im 3/3/0/4 DE now. No more customization points than a Novice. And I can only choose 6 colors when assambleing a droid chassis. The problem is that chassis dont keep it colors when you assamble the actual droid.
Using the customization kit yes, I can use every color.

Ah! To clarify, an ITEM that already has multiple modifiers will apply them all. A skill ATTACHMENT, when inserted only uses the top one.

Good catch! It matters when doing the chassis, but not when customizing. I'd forgotten about that.

By now everyone's seen the skill-enhancing attachments, and maybe you have some yourself and are all eager to use them. Be Carfeful!

Is this only for DE tapes? Because I have a shirt that gives two different defense bonuses. One is like +16 melee defense, the other is +3 vs stun. Or maybe these weren't from tapes, but from tissues?
