Thread: ELITE GUIDE TO GRINDING MDE
#1. Your first goal is not to start grinding. This is a mistake I have made, aswell as many other droid engineers. Your first goal should be to go out and get 6 rate 10 medium harvesters, 4 rate 10 chemical extracters, 1 fusion generator atleast rate 14.
Now you are thinking to yourself... I CANT AFFORD THIS!!! I AM A N00B. Unless your not a newb and already have this stuff. If you can afford it just skip the next section.
#2. HOW YOU MAKE YOUR CASH!!!
PART I
Ok... this will be easy or hard. Your first goal will be to get a level 4 basic combat skill. Here they are incase your confused.
Pistols IV, Carbines IV, Rifles IV, Unarmed IV, One Handed IV, Two-Handed IV, and Polearm IV.
Aswell your going to need to get MASTER ARTISIAN.
How you get a level 4 combat skill and master artisian is not my problem. All I am talking about is grinding to master DE.
So lets say you have a level 4 combat skill and master artisian. Guess what... you now qualify for the high paying artisian surveying missions. They should still pay 900-1800 credits . Make sure your carrying a weapon for your level of combat or you wont get to offered the good missions. You get to carry two of these surveying missions at a time.
a) Go and make a waypoint right at the ARTISIAN mission terminal you are using. Name the waypoint MISSION.
b) Now go 1024 m away from the artisian mission terminal. You can find out the exact distance by turning on your waypoint monitor & activating the waypoint named MISSION. Now once your 1024m out Survey each resource (chem, mineral, gas) , and find out which ones have above 70% in the area you have scoped out. Be sure to make a waypoint so you remember where this location is. Name the the waypoint MONEY.
***( If you find one in a category that has above 70% you can skip the rest of the category. For example if there are 5 gases listed under inert gas, and the first one gives a reading of 76%, you can skip the rest of the inert gas.)
c) Go back to the mission terminal and select missions for the resources that you surveyed over 70%. Try and make sure you get over 1500 credits a mission.
d)Now go back to the waypoint where you surveyed named MONEY. Survey for the resources that your mission requires. Collect your cash.
If you are doing this right and are using a speeder... you should be able to make 60k an hour.
PART II
Make personal harvesters, mine resources, and sell them for atleast 3 cpu on the bazaar. Make sure you harvest some wind energy first. Harvesters need power to work, wind energy will do this for you.
#3. Where to find your harvesters, and what to look for, and what to buy first.
a) OK what you look for in a harvester is the RATE. The rate determines how much the harvester will extract an hour. Rate 10 is the most on a medium harvester. I dont know what it is on a fusion, but rate 14 will get you all the power you need.
b) Where do you find these harvesters. Master architects make them, and you will need to find thier vendors. The vendors are listed on the global directory. You can find this directory by pressing
ctrl+v -> click on vendors -> click on housing
There will be a list of vendors coming up, make waypoints for the ones that say harvesters in the title.
c) You should not pay more than 50k for a rate 10 medium mineral installation, 60k for a medium chemical installation, and 140k for a high rate fusion generator.
d) make sure you get the fusion generator first, otherwise you wont have enough power for your harvesters.
#4) HARVESTING
OK now that you have your harvesters you will not have to pay 3 cpu for your resources. Place your chemical extractors on fibroplast, your mineral installations on steel, and your fusion on radio active.
Make sure to still sell some of your resources, or run artisian missions for coin so you can maintain your harvesters.
Also quality does not matter, however if you have a choice go with quality.
#5) Crafting
Ok this is the crappy part... but it will be easier if you do it my way. First you have to grind mse droids. Once you have enough xp to get intermediate blue prints, get it. You will still have to grind mse droids. Then once you get enough xp for advanced blue prints get that. Now you will craft advanced frames the rest of your way to master de.
Believe it or not your going to get xp faster than you could imagine. At the bottom of the page is my crafting macro, make sure you use it because it works about 3-4 times faster than regular crafting.
You now should understand why you have been extracting steel, and fibro plast. It is because advanced frames require it. Also advanced frames give about 450 xp a shot.
#6. The crafting MACRO
I am sure you have heard what a macro is, and if you have not go read your manual and find out. Now the hard part about this macro is figuring out what schematic to use. If you look below you will see something called select draft schematic. You will have to play around with this number to find your advanced frames. This is the only hard part of the macro.
The "ui action toolbarPane" is the thing at the top of the screen. Each individual icon is a slot, you may have your gun or sword in one of the slots. The slots are named "ui action toolbarSlot00 - 23". The top left being 00, and the bottom right 23.
Make sure to have *generic* crafting tools at ui action toolbarSlot02 through ui action toolbarSlot06. And if you dont understand that make sure you have the generic crafting tool in the 3rd, 4rth, 5th, 6th, and 7th spot on the top row.
GRIND ( location ui action toolbarSlot00) Make a macro and put it in the top left spot. Make sure you put the code exactly as it is below (case sensitive) in the macro.
/nextCraftingStage;
/nextCraftingStage;
/createPrototype Practice noitem;
/createPrototype Practice noitem;
GrindDE01 (location ui action toolbarSlot01) Make a new macro and put it in the 2nd slot next to the top left. Make sure you put the code exactly as it is below (case sensitive) in the macro. The XX next to the "/selectDraftSchematic" is the number for the draft schematic you have to find. If your starting out it should be the mse droid schematic, once you have adv blue prints it should be the advanced droid frames.
/ui action toolbarSlot02;
/selectDraftSchematic XX;

You can mess around with the times for the crafting, i find anything less than 4 second pause times runs into problems. If you do this for advanced frames you should get about 180k xp an hour with advanced frames. Enjoy
