Have just been experimenting with the new combat modules in R3 droids, a really nice combination i've found is:

3 105 ratedcombat modules

1 repair mod

1 crafting station module

1 lvl 6 item storage

2 lvl 4 armor pieces

With nice tools, and some lucky experimentation, used the above to build :

R3 Advanced

1620 HAM

40% armor

1.5 speed

0.36 to hit

110-120 damage

Clothing Armor Crafting Station

Repair module (that actually works to repair other droids)

10 Item Storage

which is a rather nice utility droid, that fights like an average pet,and better than most mounts.

Also am looking forward to being in a group, where everyone is using them, and to see how practical it is to repair each others droids during combat.

Will be doing factory runs of these next week

Thanks to the dev's, even though i dont have my droideka's army, i'm pretty happy with my R3 army.

I thought it wasn't possible to have 40% armor anymore.

It isn't

Thats 40% resists only....even with composite armour segments usedits still AR0 and consequently dies like a fly, stimmed or not.

I am happy you like the new droids, Zabe. But there is one correction I would like to make. The Repair Module heals droid wounds, not droid damage. Any repair you do with the module will not save the droid's life in the middle of combat, only a Repair Kit will.

You join us here in the deepest, darkest heart of Valcyn to see that rarest of species, a happy DE. These extraordinarily rare creatures were thought to be extinct even as recently as pre-publish 7 but apparently, magically, it appears a scarce few have managed to adapt and survive.

Sorry, couldn't resist

first of all did original poster tried lately to put in an R-Unit a general socket cluster? it dont work at all now. the combat droids are neat but thats about it. they not uber. but for them we lost the real utility droids cause we cant at all place a gen socket cluster into them, only combat cluster, so i would like to know howu put into an R3 the item storage etc? its only possible with gen socket cluster, and they cant be placed at all in.

/sigh

Any module can be placed in a combat socket... I recently made 3 LE's with 2 combat modules and 1 Storage each.
