The SWG timeline is indeed set AFTER events from the Clone Wars movies... Yes, droids from the Clone Wars Era were (supposedly) outlawed during the reign of Palpatine. However, that doesnt necessarily mean that all knowledge of HOW to create them has vanished from the SWG universe... as proof I'll mention the long-vanished Droid-operated Katana Fleet that was "rellocated" in the SWG EU novels.
I would suggest that, IF these droids are "somehow" rediscovered and made available, that they ALSO be tagged as "illegal and proscribed mechanisms"... with the owners of said droids becominginstantly TEF'd (with DB) when saiddroids are active within sensor range of Imperial Forces.
