Thread: Uh, What the Hell?
I went after some stormtroopers, like I usually do-
I set up Stems (one of my probots) and walk away from him. Once I get in a nice cross fire position. I tell Stems to "Smoke 'em", at which point he begins his attack. I then commence to firing and dropping poisons, etc. on the STs. Stems will last for 2 or 3 minutes before breaking down and then whatever STs haven't started attacking me already will run over and gang up on me.
Not last time though. I told stems to attack and I fired maybe 3 times before he was incapped. I'm not joking- IT WAS THAT FAST!
Seriously- Are there better Combat Droids out there? 'Cause my two probots are now useless.
AND aren't we supposed to be able to have a pet and a CL droid out now? I tried to do that but I got the "you have no way of controlling..." message.

So, I been reading about the armor change for the CL Combat Droids but didn't get a real feel for it 'til the other night.

You have my deepest sympathy
Welcome to the new and balanced world of 'improved' Droids', we don't much like it either.
Now - someone, anyone want to say something positive about all this, cos I can't do it thats for sure.
I've been trying to find something positive all week...but as my last 10k credits run out all I can say is.....
/cry
/targetSelf
/attack
/mourn
/donatePartsToGoodwill
I mean, my probot was only "OK" to tank with anyway. Why'd it get nerfed- and so HARD.
Honestly, I have to say I feel a little robbed- I bought droids because they were good pets AND because they are StarWars-y. Now they really are useless- they capped the HP two months ago because they increased the armor and now they drop the armor and leave you with two lumps of steel-
There should be some sort of trade in where I can get an equivilant droid like they did with pets 'cause seriously, I HAVE BEEN ROBBED.
Now I am definately going to buy an organic pet- Most likely one that has been Bio-Engineered. Supposedly you can have both out- Anyone know the ruling on this?
I will also buy an R2 or an R3 unit (I've been wanting an R2 for a long time now anyway) but only if I can have it for back up. There is nothing like being overt and having someone attack you while you have your droid out- grinding whatever- and then they back you up.
I did something people will probably call me insane for.
I took my LE droid enraged rancor hunting.
(Pause for laughter)
(For following scenario LE droid had around 1900 HAM)
Yes it did get incapped several times, granted that was when I wasn't healing it. And it did last a while.
Unfortunately a couple times it decided that guarding me when I'm using pistols meant beating on the rancor with my friend. And since it's often dark on Dantooine, I missed it walking off. It died, but it took like 2-3 minutes for it to do so. That's pretty impressive.
Now later I tried pulling it out and using my Repair Kit B's. They were only rated at 849. If I sat there close enough to repair it actually held it's own against the enraged rancor and slowly went up the towards full HAM. Keep in mind this was with 1 other player also tanking.
So yes, they are usefull!

I dont know what to say to your tale to be honest, for myself I cant keep my LE stable evenattacking Faamba's, the heal delay seems too long, although admittedly it does delay the incap.
Somehow I wonder what influence that other player tanking had.
Still, interesting.

So, might as well clear out the prepatch combat droids? Armor changed on the prepatched?
Armour did change on the pre-patched - yes.
Up to you if you clear them out, I have some useful modules in 2 of mine, and the new one's not having inherent firepower means having to lose CR for a surgical module. Losingthat armour means they really cant tank anymore anyway.
...It just don't seem right, man.

Yeah, throw out my good buddy bots "Stems" and "Seeds".
Sounds like there's a reason your Probots are 'lazy'. (j/k)
