Thread: Droid Crafting Station Modules Neutral Effect
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=in_live&message.id=12263#M12263
This mirrors my own experiments and the results of other experiments I have seen. For #1 the difference is so insignificant (if it exists at all) that in a 200-item test performed comparing a +42 architect crafting station with a -10 architect crafting station the results were within the margin of error. In other words, statistically speaking, there was no difference between the two stations. (Note: this test was performed a long time ago, so things may have changed during the intervening patches. I still have and use both a +44 and a +23 and notice no difference on a day-to-day basis.)

basically what our results have shown over time is that
1) ALL STATIONS -- droid and personal --- have very little effect on crafting and their ratings mean nothing.
2) TOOLS apparently have a stronger weight in what ever formula they are using...so a 14% tool is beter to use than a 5% tool
3) MATERIALS --- these seem to play the biggest part in crafting
The other trick with it that doesn't really make it worth it is you can't actually get a better product, you can just make good ones easier.

I remember reading one post where a guy had tracked some statistics on various rated craft stations. I remember seeing the graph, and noting that the higher rated stations did in fact yield a higher percentage of successes. I do agree, however, that the amount of difference is minimal. And considering the effort involved in making a high rating craft station (especially 43 or 44+) is not commensurate with the reward for doing so.

well....my personal excperince has been that an amzing success isnt really all that...not really that big of a difference than getting a great...but then most items i craft only have 1 stat worth experimenting on..so an Chef or an AS might actually benefit from one
i think the important thing for DE's to know is that your droids are basically the same as the crafting stations....
(if the truth be known, many of us have actually gotten WORSE results with higher rated stations ---- they increase amazing successes but also seem to increase failures and moderates as well)

Well.. well... well...
Look's like the Conclusions drawn from player testing have now been verified and "proven" by a developer's statement (even if it did have to come through Thunderheart).
