I guess we'll finally get to see what the hype (or lack there of) was/has been all about today. I really thought we would get a pre-TC trailer, but I guess not.

I really hope, once we see the Publish Notes, that the DEVs and TK will be ready with expanations and clarifications.

The forcast is for rough weather ahead. Batten down the hatches.

Most of you knowI have been rather vocal, and quite nagative in my stance on the lack of communication. You may also note that I have not attacked, or even commented much on actual state of the profession. The lack of information flowing in our direction really has nothing to do with the DEs, and everything to do with attitudes and personalities on both sides of the fense.

Having said that, I would implore everyone to take a48 hours break from negative and emotional posts. Getyourquestions out there, and to give the DEVs a chance to respond.

Then, if the information embargo continues after 48 hours, we can load up the buck-shot and give 'em both barrels. This is early in the week, so there should be plenty of time for the developers to digest what is crossing the boards, and for TK to summarize for them if neccessary.

I'm OK with that. I'm a "wait and see" type anyway. I wasn't overly impressed with P7, but I'm getting to know the details of it now and have warmed to some of the changes. Slowly, but still a little better Guess, I'll do the same this time

There was DE input....cause they read our posts (in several places).

True...they didn't come to us first with a big list but I believe that had more to do with not wanting to count their chickens before they'd hatched.

It's not unusual for them to not talk about items that won't ever get to TC for some reason.

The Publish 8 patch notes should be up pretty quick...

TK-

They have "In Concept" and "In Development" forums for a reason. They're not there just to eat up bandwidth. The Devs are supposed to be actively trying to improve communication to the players. We didn't get a thread on either of those forums for either of "our" publishes.

And they wonder why we don't like the changes they made....

Yea, I know this is a DE sorespot (which has been communicated, all). We can't do much in the super-immediate future on this but I'm working on some initiatives to make this go away for good. I guess I can only add that I feel like I inherited a situation that was in place for awhile.

And they wonder why we don't like the changes they made....

Let me know you feel when you see the whole list. I know I'll have to revisit our Top 20 for future initiatives.

TK, the one thing that chaps my bum on this is that they know we have been asking for information for some time now. Sure, not all of the information has been locked down, but some of it must have been. Even a broad view scope of what is in the works would be good. Something like:

We are working on new modules for droids as our focus right now. We hope to get at least 3 new types out this publish (undershoot the number on purpose)

There will be no new droid types, but this has allowed us more programing resources to fix some nagging bugs.

Even two lines like that would have helped us from getting so darned flustrated. Just some scope statements. Full disclosure would always be nice, but it was not what we requested. We requested any information.
