Thread: A little help for a soon-to-be DE?

I got bored with shooting animals so I decided I want to make something instead. So far Droids look like the more fun option of the crafting professions. Yes, I read the forum and I can see that you have major troubles, but I want to make droids none the less. After reading the FAQ sticky I still have a few questions.

So, I have a few questions.

1. How dependant are DE's on other players? I saw that Architects make Power Cores. Are they important?
2. How much Artisan would you recommend for a DE?
3. Same as above, only Merchant.
4. What about fighting classes, any of that needed? (I'll keep my Rifle skills for as long as I can. Should make harvesting a little easier.)
5. Is there a market for Droids? (It's sad I have to ask that...) How about low level droids from a Novice DE?

Sorry to break the immense tension of the coming publish (and especially the patch notes) on TC, but I'd like these questions answered.

hello,

1) good idea to get in good with an armorsmith for the level 6 droid armor...

2) good idea to get master artisan for you will need the GP modual and Memory module and a few other's only MA can make.

3) get at least novice merchant just to set up a vendor......

4) it's your choice if you wanna stand and fight or run away.....when being attacked while checking your harv's.

5)not a reallly big market I find...but after the 8th publish hopefully it grows with the new mods I think were getting.

Hope this helps,

Good Luck,

1.) Not very. Like you said, power cores (used for power droids.. which are not all that great anyway) are made by architects. Depending on your droid building style, you may depend a little on Armorsmiths for composite layers (used in the level 6 armor plates,) but you can easily get the same result using 2 level 4 modules, which do not require the composit layer.

2.) I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend you get Master Artisan. There are a LOT of Master Artisan schematics you will use for a LOT of your droids. GP Modules, Memory modules, control units... trust me. You want to Master Artisan. You don't *have* to, but you will definitely spend some time with your local master artisan.

3.) Ehh, this one is really your choice. I'm at 4/4/3/3 in merchant and I feel I spent too many points in it. I normally only have 2 vendors out at a time. The only useful features I rely on are the map registering option and the merchant tent placement. The rest I could easily live without.

4.) With a DE, there are no organic materials you need to harvest. I'm still at pistol 4 and very, very rarely need to attack anything. Only time I really do is if I get jumped at a harvester.

5.) Yes, there is a nice little market for droids, although it could definitely be better. A lot of people think like I do and just *HAVE* to have a droid for some reason. I mean, this is a Star Wars game heh. They can be useful too. Doctors would not be able to buff in front of the star port without em, and bounty hunters would be lost without the probe droids and seeker droids.
