On occasion, the Master would toss a bone, or a scrap of food amidst his dogs. The dogs would snarl and fight, nipping at one another over the meager scraps. Sometimes, the fighting would become so fierce that the bone was entirly forgotten.

As the days past, the Master watched his dogs fighting, and he would obseserve. He would take note of which dogs got the scraps, and what they did with them. over time, he began to learn which scraps his dogs like best, and which scraps were just an excuse for a good dog-fight.

Then one day, as he was tossing a particulary juicy bone to his dogs, a couple of them jumped in an attempt to be first to get to the bone. One of them, after missing his chance at the bone, nipped the Master's hand. The Master jerked his hand away, cursing. He vowed to himself never to feed the dogs again, and stormed away, leaving his lowly house-servant to care for the dogs.

Ya great....

But I do see what a bunch of hungry dogs has to do with being a DE.
